| This is the starter thread for: Lunch and Lunacy
It takes place in a comfortable waiting area attached to the private secretariat of the Kazekage. Here the Kazekage's personal staff worked tirelessly to handle the vast amounts of paperwork that streams going in and out of the Kazekage's office. There are 5 desks, 4 for his under secretaries and one for his personal secretary located adjacent to the waiting area which itself has water fountain, comfy leather sofas and ornate coffee tables. The room, while as opulent as the rest of the palace, was surprisingly light and airy, full of pots plants, soft furnishings and warm lighting. The only thing that served to remind the world of what it truly was, the most important administrative room in the city, was the kind if stern face of the 52 year old Mrs Mitashi and the two TSOKR operatives in their stark black and white suits and shades standing either side of a double door at the far end. Occasionally Nin would come in and out with documents and letters but for the most part it was a relatively quite room, silence only broken by the occasional exchange of words and tapping of type writers. |

| His Grace, Lord Ichushiro, has kindly requested your presence for lunch and hopes that you will favor him with a positive response.
The line from the letter repeated in the woman's mind as she moved silently through the streets, dodging the increasing traffic as the day wore on and people went about their lives as they do every day. And just like every other day, guarded eyes turned towards her every now and then as she pass. Some of the people shuffled out of her way or pretended not to notice her. The woman gave no sign she noticed the nervous twitch of hands or the low murmur of whispers. Though, she was all to well aware. Chishio stopped for a moment, raising her crimson gaze to the building at the end of the street as she moved her hand to block the blazing afternoon sun from her eyes, its rays glittering off her long blood colored nails. The People's Palace.
Upon receiving the letter, she had not been all that surprised. It had been at least 2 months since the last time Lord Ichushiro had been seen in public, as well since any missions had been assigned to her. It had been odd and left her with nothing but training to entertain herself with. These things added up to a conclusion something must be about to begin, maybe the Lord was getting ready to make a move. There wasn't a doubt he had been planning something these past months, and possibly this meeting had a thing or two to do with it. Although the possibilities were endless with this man and what he had planned. It wasn't smart to get to comfortable to a particular outcome and let one's guard down.
The steady rhythm of her mind allowed her to walk almost automatically, not seeing and yet still seeing. Though this was broken with the cry of a young girl as she fell to her knees within Chishio's path. Staring at the child for a moment, her eyes looked to the scrape on the child's knee and the small trickle of blood leaking down her slightly tanned skin. She had bent down to the girl's level, raising her palm which had started to glow slightly, when the girl's mother scooped her up hastily. After throwing a nervous glance down at the blank face and blood colored eyes she hustled back through the crowd. For a moment she stayed there watching after them before standing once again and moving on. The hand which had been glowing returned to normal as she ran it through her short cropped white hair.
By the time she walked into the waiting room of the office it was at least a half hour before the time of the scheduled lunch. It seemed she was the first to arrive. She looked oddly out of place among the other people hustling in and out the building. The ragged edge of her dress rustled slightly as she moved across the room, the golden flower pattern on her sleeves moving as if they swayed to a breeze. Just below where the dress cutoff was a leather band around her thigh, standing out in dark contrast to her slightly pale skin. Ignoring the gazes of the ones who had noticed her enter she took a seat in one of the comfortable looking black sofas and crossed her legs as she waited patiently, listening to the slow trickle of water from the fountain, and the sounds of scratching over paper and keys of typewriters. |

| “What the heck,” A voice bellowed from the corner of the room, “ A letter?”. It wasn’t the fact there was a letter that surprised Kakougan, people wrote him letters all the time about his methods and preaching. There was something different about this letter, it had an air of importance. All of the other letters in that were received were crude and written on cheap parchment, but this one was different. It was much too majestic to be a regular letter, Kakougan was well aware of that fact. Standing up from the corner, he walked over to the dusty table and glared at the letter. The table wasn’t the only thing in the room that was dusty, the entire room was. Since Kakougan was a self proclaimed preacher, he usually spent his nights out on the streets rather then in his room and when he was in his room he never felt the need to clean it. In one swift movement, Kakougan used one of his claws to rip the envelope open and read the letter inside.
“A formal dinner… bleh. The only thing good about those are… well nothing. Besides, I would probably be forced to wear a shirt. I hate shirts…” Kakougan said at first, crumpling the letter up and throwing it across the room. After a few moments of reflection, Kakougan started to think back to when he was just an immigrant looking for somewhere to go. Lord Ichushiro had admitted him into the village as a jounin, an honorable position. ‘ I hate to admit it, but it looks like I’m somewhat obligated to go… I am a jounin. I don’t even know any of the other jounin. Probably stuck up pagans, probably… but there is still that chance. That glimmering light in the distance that someone might understand my struggle. I’ll do whatever it takes to grasp it. Even if that means… wearing a shirt…’ was the pep talk Kakougan gave himself before he picked himself up and charged out the door.
On his way to the palace, Kakougan stopped at a popular clothing store so that he could find an appropriate shirt for the occasion. After making his way through a long line of shoppers in order to get to the front desk, Kakougan sighed and explained that he needed a shirt for a dinner party. “ I don’t think we have shirts in your size here… you’re a bit on the large side… you should try the place across the street.” The lady at the desk said in a sassy tone. “ Thanks.” Kakougan retorted, attempting to mock the women’s tone. On his way out a sound drifted to his ears, the sound of him being portrayed as a hulking beast by the clerk at the counter. With a small scoff, Kakougan walked across the street and into an odd looking store. Instead of the lean figures that were in the previous store, this store was filled with large people that seemed to waddle from aisle to aisle. “ What a peculiar place…” Kakougan noted to himself as he venture to the front desk. “ Look buddy, I need a formal shirt as soon as possible. I have somewhere to go soon.” He said to the clerk abruptly. With a nod, the clerk turned and went off to the back room. This clerk looked much like the villagers in this store; very round and large people who seemed to all be shopping in the same place. Before Kakougan could put two and two together, the clerk returned with a weird floral fabric. “ We call this a moo-moo, its perfect for people like you.” The clerk said with a smile. Kakougan assumed that people like him meant people that were going to a party and bought the odd cloth, put it on, and ran out of the store quickly.
In a few more minutes he arrived at the palace, right on time. As the clock struck 12:45, Kakougan stepped through the door and stood triumphantly in the face of all the people inside with his majestic pink floral moo-moo and a heroic grin on his face.

| Having made her way to the imposing administrative building, Kasumi walked the stairs toward the grand entrace, brushing a little light spray from the nearby fountains from her shoulder. With a heave on the large handles, the kunoichi now found herself navigating the long corridors in order to reach the Kazekage's offices. In actual fact, the meeting that she was to attend was not being held there. Rather, in one of the anterooms of Ichushiro's quarters, she and the other Jounin would take lunch with their Kage. It was hardly something she had expected to receive an invitation to, although Ichushiro was known for being a somewhat quirky character. What piqued her curiosity the most was the informal setting of a meal, when the intonation of the letter had been so clearly formal and... firm.
--- [18 Hours Ago]
Sighing with fatigue as she nearly fell through her front door, Kasumi dropped her bag where she stood and closed the door behind her. As she shuffled through her hallway, it took a moment for her to notice the letter sat neatly on her desk. With a quizzical look on her face she reached for the letter and turned it so as to break it open. Noticing the official mark of the Kazekage, she let her fingers trace the seal gently before sliding underneath and forcing it open. Walking through to the adjoining room as she pulled the parchment out from inside the envelope, she sat down and unfolded the letter. It took a few moments to read it, and many more to double check. Lunch? She pondered. With the curious invitation still puzzling her, Kasumi prepared herself for bed. If, as she suspected, tomorrow's meal was far more important than the letter had suggested, she would need plenty of sleep to be on top of her game.
---
[Present]
The grand doors to the Kazekage offices now in sight, the kunoichi took a quick look at her outfit to make sure it was all in order. Today, she wore a three-quarter length, golden-yellow and black kimono - bound at the waist, though underneath her clothes remained the same. In that, she had similarly coloured shirt ash-black trousers with yellow-gold thigh markings and elbow-long black gloves. Her footwear of choice for the meeting was charcoal sandals, their slender straps running half way up her shins, twisting around in stylish fashion. Brushing a speck of dust from her sleeve, Kasumi raised her head and strode toward the double doors. Smiling just a little, she pushed the doors open and entered the waiting room.
She was not the first to arrive, two other individual's were already present and waiting. The woman guessed that they were both of Jounin-level too, though she couldn't yet know if she was correct. The first, another female, was sat comfortably on a black sofa. She had white hair, red-gold eyes and wore a short-cut kimono too, bound at the waist and coloured red and gold. Kasumi's gaze wandering now to the other individual, who came in stark contrast with the image of the seated woman. Though humanoid in shape, there were few features that distinguished the shinobi from a non-human creature. Discoloured, hardened skin covered an unusual bone structure. Sharp teeth and claws completed the set, and had the man not clearly been here to attend the meeting too, Kasumi would have been suspicious. Indeed, the kunoichi had to hold back a smile for the bright pink, floral shirt the man had donned for the occasion.
Both had already noticed Kasumi's appearance in the room, and she greeted them both with a friendly smile and nod of the head. |

| Shadow was currently laying on his white sheeted queen sized bed with his head on the opposite direction of the pillows and his right leg crossed above his left leg, which was leaning up, while shaking slightly out of a behavioral habit. Shadows arms were in the air as his hands were holding an orange book that had about 347 pages in total minus the table of context as well as all the copyright and blank pages from time to time. The title of the book was “One with Your Soul: The Novices Guide to Taijutsu” and had someone in some sort of blue jumpsuit tearing apart some sort of material, probably wood, apart with his bare fists.
The book was given to him by his older brother as a means to get in touch with his Taijutsu and “possibly keep up with him" as in a relevance to speed. Shadow was always the one to learn too much about it. He did pick it up sometime in the Ninja Academy and the early days of his Gennin year, or half of one, but he soon dropped it to keep up with his Genjutsu, but maybe he should get back in touch with his Taijutsu side as a means to stay well rounded, but he was still deciding on that part.
Shadow got the book from his brother about 5 hours prior to his current reading and he was at his 262nd page at this point in time, around the chapter where they actually get to the parts that help you and that they don’t teach 7 year olds still in the academy. In all honesty though, Shadow was actually learning a bit more than he thought and it was also influencing his decision on whether he should brush up on his Taijutsu a bit and get started on his own physical training soon enough.
After reading for another couple minutes, Shadow heard the voice of his older brother yelling out of nowhere even though he deliberately ignored it. “Holy crap, I forgot all about that!” After less than a second, Shadow heard footsteps running in one direction and then started going in another direction in which it was getting louder and louder, causing him to believe that he was now heading for his room for what reason, Shadow could honestly saw he didn’t know and he could hope that it wasn’t something that he would care too much about since that’s usually the result when someone wishes to speak with him.
Paying true to Shadow’s prediction, the door busted open and a tired teenager with blue hair came in breathing heavily and holding a letter. Shadow didn’t bother looking at him as he turned another page however but Hayaku spoke anyways. “I forgot to tell you, a letter came by today out of freakin nowhere with your name on it. I think it’s rather important.” Hayaku proceeded to throw the letter onto Shadow’s chest. He just continued reading as he felt the paper reach him. “When did you find it?” Hayaku chuckled a bit. “Yeah… about 5 hours ago.”
Shadow simply sighed as he placed the book faced up on the bed beside him so that he could pick up the paper from his chest. Once he had it in his hand, Shadow checked the letter for any sort of hint as to what it might be or just to be safe, for any booby traps that could come with it. Once he was done checking it, Shadow found absolutely nothing except for his name so he decided to just open it and take our the letter, unfolding it so that he could read, mouthing the words as he read on.
Once he was finished, Shadow had a puzzled look on his face, speaking in his usual monotone voice. “I’m supposed to do what now? Have lunch with the Kazekage as well as other Jounin?” This was a very non-understandable request as he hasn’t heard too about it before and had no idea of its intention or the Kazekage’s for that matter. It could also be the fact that Shadow was more of a loner but he brushed that thought away as he didn’t consider that important at all to him.
Shadow then noticed the time of that the meeting would be set in place. “1 o Clock…” He checked his window to see the motions of the sun as a means of guessing the time, something he was rather good at. “The sun’s directed to the west so it’s past noon…. Oh crap...” He checked the watch on his right wrist to see the exact time. ‘Yep, it’s 12:38… Hayaku, you’re an moron, you know that?’ Unfortunately though, his brother had already left the room so he couldn’t actually tell him that at the moment so he simply got up from his position and looked at himself in the mirror. Shadow has actually never been late for anything in his life so this hurrying up was certainly new for him.
Going to what seemed to be a formal lunch with dark baggy jeans and a dark grey short sleeve above a black long-sleeve shirt with the picture of an upside down cross along with finger-less gloves probably wasn’t the best idea so he went over to his closet and raided it till he reached all the way to the back, retrieving the black tuxedo that he had worn during his Chuunin graduate celebration by forced and which his father dry cleaned and kept in mint condition for odd reasons that he didn’t want to know about. Shadow quickly took off his casual outfit and placed on the tuxedo, then going over to his mirror to catch a good look. Thankfully, it still fit thanks to the fact that it was but half a year ago that he was Chuunin, making him potentially the youngest Jounin in the village and a bit of a stand-out in such a formal time.
Well, at least he didn’t have his spiked kneecap with him and he showered about 15 minutes ago so all he basically had to do was brush his hair until the spikes were gone and the back was completely down to his shoulders and then he tied a rubber band on it so that the bangs weren’t covering his right eye, though there was still a few strands leaking out.
Shadow simply placed his hands in his pockets and wondered if there was anything he was forgetting. He simply shrugged it off and sat down on the bed so he could put on his black dress shoes, then got the book he was reading from his bed so that he could put it in his jacket pocket before walking towards his front door, opening it and yelling out. “Make sure mother and father knows where I am at least so they won’t trip.” “Yeah, yeah”. And with that, Shadow closed the door and put his hand over his forehead so that he could see the bright sun’s position clearly. “12:44, I need to get moving.”
He simply dropped the snake handsign and provided a moderate amount of chakra (C Rank) as he started to jog over to the administrative building with ease due to the lowered air resistance and a wind current right behind him, the only problem was the constant people in his way that he had to use a Tomoe of his Sharingan to dodge and keep from causing a people crash. After a few jumps and weaving, Shadow was finally able to make it to his destination of the building that he was due to have lunch in. The Kazekage’s building. Shadow wasn’t really too familiar with the Kazekage despite missions and promotion but other than that, he hadn’t seen him at all. Though he has heard a good number of insane rumors involving him that people were wondering if they were true. Seems like Shadow may find out about some of them right here. Shadow checked his watch. “12:59” He had barely made it which meant that his record wasn’t smudged so he simply walked inside the building in a casual manner as he deactivated his Sharingan
Once he had made it over to the place they were all supposed to meet, he caught the site of two females and a male, though the male did seem a bit… unique in his appearance and the dress shirt he was wearing could only make the average person giggle or chuckle a bit, but Shadow wasn’t that type of person, he was more the all business type so it didn’t affect him at all. As he figured everyone was beautifully dressed, probably preparing for a while on this lunch as well as wondering exactly what this lunch was all about. Shadow kept his hands in his pocket as he walked up leaned on the wall with his eyes closed, not being the one to know how to say hello, he just stayed silent with that same neutral expression on his face.
- Spoiler:
Name: Fuyashi Chisoku (Enhanced Speed) Type: Ninjutsu Rank: C-S Element: Fuuton Description: After performing the necessary hand sign, the user can enhance their speed by the given amount dependent on the chakra put into it in battle by decreasing air resistance around them and even sprint across or run up vertical surfaces by generating a wind current behind themselves to propel them along. After one post, jutsu will need a recharge of the same amount of chakra or it will cancel out.
