| Koujetsu yawned as he pulled himself out of bed, stretching and twisting every limb that he might have cramped up earlier on during the night when he was sleeping. He quickly got breakfast, a small bowl of cereal and sat down as he poured the milk, thinking about what was supposed to be going on this day.
Last night around the time the sun set over the western dunes of Suna, Koujetsu had received an invitation to The Fatted Duck, a very classy and rich restaurant down the far strip in Suna, at least in retrospect to his current location. The invitation itself was from his new teammate, most likely as a way to greet and get to know the new members of their team. Koujetsu himself didn’t really know much about his partners in crime, something that would need to be remedied as time went on.
Koujetsu yawned again and got up from the table, his cereal bowl now empty as he had started eating during his little monologue to himself. Never a good sign normally, but talking to ones self was nearly a daily occurrence for Koujetsu; it helped him remember things of little convenience and important things at the same time, like a note pad but so much more fun. After all, a notepad didn’t get people to stare at you with such weird looks while walking to the supermarket and back, now did it?
Throwing the bowl in the sink to remind himself to do the dishes later, Koujetsu jumped in the shower, and began to brush his teeth while doing so. Much more convenient to do both at once, as it saved him time when he got out, and he didn’t really know where his clothes were currently, at least the clothes he wanted to wear.
A quick brush through the hair and a towel to somewhat dry himself off with was all Koujetsu needed, as the heat outside would have his clothes and hair dry by the time he made it from his little apartment near the Suna border across the city to where his Fuuinjutsu teachers lived, the rich bastards. They probably made nearly enough money to buy the blasted lands of the Tsuchi Country, and still have enough to live comfortably for all they made creating security seals for the casinos and hotels. Koujetsu shook his head and pulled a pair of jeans out of the closet, before looking for one of his ink stained shirts that he could possibly wear to training this morning. His masters preferred him to wear suits and fancy clothes, but with the amount of drinking they did, and shaking of the table while he was trying to write, ink stained clothes were so much better to wear for the moment.
Besides, he didn’t really have much in the way of fancy outfits and the like, suits were too expensive on his minimal income; which was generated by making storage seals for people on the streets, and the like. And any fancy shirts he worse soon became ink covered, making it a complete waste of money for the moment. Koujetsu didn’t understand that one bit, he could seal with ANY liquid known to man, why was he stuck using ink, of all things. The stuff stained like no tomorrow and was terribly noticeable on his skin.
Looking around his room, Koujetsu spotted the small shine of the lenses of his sunglasses, something he needed at the moment because he couldn’t deal with the blinding light of the sun so early in the day. Plus, they looked cool, and that’s all Koujetsu really needed for the moment. Sun protection and semi cool look.
As he hurried down the strip of Suna, his shower having taken longer than normal this time around due to the fact his masters had put a seal on the shampoo they gave him for his birthday, which turned his shampoo to honey, curious glances were given to his state of dress. He felt horribly out of place, scummy clothes in a well funded, highly populated rich sector of Suna, so he jumped an alley wall and continued to his masters house on roof top, a normal site in Suna. The sky scrapers were so high that it gave the impression of flying as they were jumped across. At least until said person missed their jump and fell a few hundred feet. That had happened a few times before, as Koujetsu remembered.
Finally sliding down the side of his masters condo, Koujetsu wiped his feet off on the mat at the front door, and walked inside, greeting the maids with every possible ounce of respect he could posses. They gossiped like little old house wives, and Koujetsu was sure that his state of dress would be mentioned to one of the masters as soon as he sat down in his practice room. A brush and a bottle of ink; surprise, surprise , lay out on the table, along with a massive stack of papers. It was his daily training to look at the folder on top, and practice whatever seal was mentioned in there. The seals were eventually sold to Shinobi stores, but they had never given him this much paper to work on before. Sighing, as Koujetsu figured that some one saw his clothing choices for the day earlier as he left his house, and reported to his masters before he had shown up, which could mean this was a very sadistic form of punishment.
Sighing again, Koujetsu grabbed the folder from the top of the pile, needing to scale the wall beside him to reach it. A surprise greeted him as he opened the folder, and pictures of different seals that he had see, but never made fell out, along with the correct pattern to create the seal, and details on every single seal. A piece of paper flitted on to the table as Koujetsu sat back down into his chair in slight shock. He stared at the paper in amazement, and promised to think badly of his masters only rarely from now on.
On the paper that had fallen to the table, there was a written message from Koujetsu’s masters. It outlined the basics of every seal and congratulated him on passing the Genin Exam. He was also told that he had to learn and be able to utilize these seals proficiently by the end of the week. Koujetsu grinned slightly. Usage was only tested outside of the training house, so Koujetsu had free reign to test these where he wanted. That only meant one thing: that his masters had paid off the civilian forces so that Koujetsu could get the appropriate training in using these seals.
Dipping the brush in ink, and pulling out a piece of paper, Koujetsu began to trace outlines, slowly, but with a flourish. He hated using the brushes, finding it much easier to manipulate the ink by adding a slight amount of water, but his masters had forbade using that technique in this house, maintaining that people only recognized true seal masters when ink and brush was used. Koujetsu couldn’t find a flaw with that logic, so he continued to practice both methods of applying seals. His sunglasses lay on the table, unused as the brightness of the sun wasn’t as bad as he expected when he woke up.
Time passed, and Koujetsu moved on from seal to seal, completing the written form of all seven in a few short hours. He stretched, rubbing his wrist. The brush was murder on it, considering Koujetsu never really learned how to use it properly in the first place. But he had gotten all of the seals down; the communication seal, one for his bloodline to enhance the jutsu it could use, a two part tracking and homing seal, one that could be called an invisibility seal, one to share vision amongst team members, and one to seal jutsu for later usage. All in all, it was a good day.
Koujetsu looked at the clock in the room and noted the time. Eleven am. He frowned, why did that ring a…. Oh right. He had a lunch plan with his new teammates at noon. He stretched again and was rewarded by a satisfying crack down his spine as he stood. He breathed a sigh of relief, and walked out of the room, running through the new seal procedures in his head. It wouldn’t be good to forget how to use them so soon.
Wiping his hands on his already ink blotted shirt, Koujetsu walked home slowly, easily reaching it with ample enough time to get cleaned up and make it to the restaurant with plenty of time. Koujetsu grinned. This was a fine day indeed.
