Appearance:

The vulture stands about 2 feet tall, and has a wing span of approximately 5 feet. This allows the vulture to fly higher in the sky using thermals and drafts in the wind more efficiently, allowing it to travel much longer distances because it doesnt constantly flap its wings, saving energy. The vulture itself has dark brown, almost black feathers, and a featherless red/purple head and neck. The beak is very small, hooked, and a rich ivory color.
Personality: The messenger birds are very direct, following their mission to a T and transporting the messages needed on time and to where ever they need to. They ignore hunger until they reach their destination. Once the message is delivered, they then go hunt down carrion or small rodents to eat their fill.
Background: The birds were found and hatched straight from their eggs. From a very young age they were trained to send and bring back messages to specific people, using photographs or a chakra imprint for someone to find them. Each bird is attuned to chakra, allowing them to find ninja easier on long voyages. The vultures also has a high sense of smell, something they use to find carrion on the ground. This allows easier tracking too. When the vultures reach the age of 3, they are transported to the aviary, where all the messenger birds are stored for usage.
