| I was going to the forum to work on my summon and came up with an idea that could be a bit important for some people.
There should be a list of the contracts that are already made and claimed so people can know what to ask permission for to use or make a completely new personal contract if there are some available.
IE :
Wolf summons: Creator of the contract [link to Mokuzai here] Open slots [1/7] or no slots, staffs decision honestly.
At least something like that so everyone can keep track to a certain degree. |

| I believe there was a list like that somewhere, but I can't really find it. |

| Unless the 'approved' section counts as a list? Meh.
There are some inactive accounts there that are holding up contracts that people could want. |

| Yeah, I believe that's the only thing we have that really counts as a list; and you're right, some of them are inactive. |

| -.- Why? It would be super frustrating if every single species was now restricted because some asshole (e.g. me) created one summoning one time (e.g a wolf, as I did) and then made a new character or left. "What YOU want a wolf?" "Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm no!" D< Is what could happen.
Just get on with roleplaying, and stop trying to create more restricting rules -.- |

| There is no real need for such a list, unless there is a purpose behind it.

Maybe I misunderstood, but to me, it sounds like Cross is suggesting that if you claim a species, another person needs permission from you to also have that species (which is in fact a system used on other sites!) |

Maybe I misunderstood, but to me, it sounds like Cross is suggesting that if you claim a species, another person needs permission from you to also have that species (which is in fact a system used on other sites!) That is exactly how it is supposed to be. There are a couple of important species that are open to everyone, though the ones people come up with are theirs until they teach someone else their summon species. There is a reason why people are asked if the summon they make will be open to the public or just to themselves.
So yeah, there is a purpose behind it. |

| I didn't mean for it to seem restrictive, but from other sites this is the only one where practically two characters could have the same animal type on a different contract. Summonings are supposed to be an extension of character and it allows for character development. Not every one even has summonings or go through the trouble to make one.
It's just like making a custom clan and someone asking permission to use it.

^ Which is why I asked this in the first place. |

| Aha good.
In which case, my 'stop trying to create more restricting rules' statement stands. |

| There are no restricting rules. All of this is already on the site, there is just no way of telling which are already taken, something you as a former member of staff should know. If nothing else, this just makes it easier for people to know what is taken and what isn't.
In which case, your 'stop trying to create more restricting rules' statement makes no sense. |

| I require a bit of clarity in this topic. Are you all arguing for a list to be created to show who created the original summon for a specific species? Because species aren't limited to one person. Person A can make a summon for a Lion and Person B, C, D, E, F and all the way to Z wouldn't have to gain the permission of Person A to create a new Lion summon. The only time they would require permission would be if they wanted to use that specific summon which Person A made, not for the species of animal. |

| More vaguely, just a list of characters and their summons. To avoid over crowding the usage of a single species as a summon. I believe that's what they were aiming for more or less. |

| It somehow turned around to be honest. XD
I was aiming for a complete summoning list of contracts that have been made.
I asked to see if summonings were only open when they stated so. I always thought 'personal' summons were only open to a single person with that contract until they allowed another individual access to the summonings. At least, that's how it's done on other sites.
Summonings are a bit more restrictive here in terms of being useful and more character driven rather than what I've experienced in the past on other sites.
At least it would make some sense to ask for permission to gain a certain species if they are personal. Naruto had to sign a contract for Jiraya to gain access to frogs, if I recall?.

| Indeed that is how it was implied to have worked on the canon as well as how it has been adopted on most sites. On US though, it seems that summons are always open, more or less. Like Darius said, you only ever need permission if you are looking to use a person's specific summon. Lets take Spectre as a example. He has a snake summoning contract signed. Now, anyone can go and get themselves a snake summoning contract, as well, without asking him for permission. The only situation in which you'd have to ask him for permission would be if you wanted to use his summon, Sharkreido, for example.
Perhaps the system and the way it is written needs a bit of clearing up, but that's how I've always understood it from the get-go. |

| It seems that the Summoning System requires one large revamp as a whole, since quite a few parts are written in a confusing and misleading way. Nevetheless, a list of contracts is a tad unnecessary when all of the approved contracts are found within Approved Creatures. While a full list could be constructed, it'll ultimately become another list that requires frequent updating and will inevitably fail to remain up-to-date with only the active members shown on the list. If a member isn't around, they won't be able to bestow their approval for someone wishing to use their own summon. What ever happened to originality anyway, you scroungers? |

| Eh.
As long as the whole things gets revamped.
This can be solved if no one else has anything to say.
Just thought a bit of canon support would change it slightly. XD |
