| This is a training topic for the following SC:
- Immense Strength:
Name: [Tier II]Immense Strength Rank: B Type: Physical Prerequisites: Character must have the “Improved Strength” Special Characteristic. Training: A 1200 word training post is required to gain this special characteristic. Restrictions: The Character must have either Taijutsu or Weaponry as one of their specialties. Description: Further training in the art of killing and brute force has lead the ninja down a road full of power. They can now lift objects up to two times heavier than they are, and their physical strength has also improved to about twice as great compared to ninja of equal rank. By now the shinobi can punch a log in half, and even crack stone with their bare hands. The increase in strength has also blessed them with the ability to jump significantly higher than their peers, though this not exactly a useful benefit.
Here is the request thread.
Suzaku's hands ached, fingers trembling against the rough stone as his body clung to the near vertical cliff face. One slip, one little mistake would almost spell out certain doom for the child. He had to be careful, something that was hard to do given his level of fatigue. Sweat trickled down his forehead, pooling over his brow and drifting around the contours of his face before falling in small droplets from his nose and chin. His hands were moist, a light film of perspiration coating his palms, causing an unpleasant stinging sensation as the saline liquid moved over the fresh cuts and abrasions that covered his limbs. Why in the world had he ever thought this was a good idea? Surely there was far safer methods of training than this! But climbing mountains was supposedly one of the best ways to build one's overall strength. Well, it didn't have to be mountains, rather it could have been almost anything in general but mountain sides like this seemd to provide more of a challenge, something that the youth had forced himself to seek. Now he regretted such a decision. His body screamed in protest at his every movement, every muscle already at its limit as he slowly inched his way up the side of the mountain. He was already so high up but was fully aware that he had been climbing for the better part of two hours with little rest aside from the occassional outcropping that provided a decently suitable surface if one was able to manage to overcome the natural obstacle it presented for the vertical climb.
A loud grunt would be heard as Suzaku reached for the next perceived handhold, his sore and exhausted fingers digging against the stone in an attempt to get a grip on the uncomfortable stone face. His legs would move next, foot groping along the wall as he looked down, trying to find some suitable break in the surface to support his body's weight. Then came the next, moving in much the same manner, looking for something just a bit higher than the first. The other hand now moved, reaching rather high as he stretched his sweaty form in an attempt to hasten his ascent. The whole time his mind remained fully aware of the ever-present aches and pains of his body. Each movement was a form of self mutilation. He was far beyond his breaking point yet continued to climb for fear of what might happen once he let go. The thought had occurred to try and use his chakra to move down the wall but the boy feared that at his current level of exhaustion, one small slip in his concentration might send him tumbling down the side of the mountain and to a rocky death. No, he needed to save such a tactic for emergencies if he could. His chakra supply wasn't infinite and it wasn't going to provide him a full way down. It was better used in those moments where he needed a quick handhold. There was always the option of trying to use his weapons to help him scale, another last ditch effort if things got bad. Suzaku wasn't exactly confident in his own strength. Would it be enough to penetrate the rock? He'd rather not try in his fatigued state if he didn't have to.
Moving at a slow but steady pace, the youth continued to climb, ignoring how the sun was now near it's zenith, its rays shining down on him and warming his already overheated body, making the perspiration all the more thick and bothersome as the boy had no real hand to spare to wipe the moisture from his eyes and face. WIth a quick shake of his head small droplets were sent in every direction. At this point his hair was nearly matted down to his skull, his bangs sticking to his drenched forehead, the strands splaying in every direction. At the very least they weren't in his eyes. That was the last thing he needed, his hair serving as a visual obstruction along with the sweat. He'd tense just a bit more for a second as he reached for yet another handhold. Grasping it tightly the boy began to pull his weight just a bit, trying to provide himself a means to get a higher foothold. Suddenly though, the rock in his grip shifted and Suzaku felt his heart stop as his entire body seemed to freeze. In the next instant he was falling, a strange and frightening sense of vertigo taking hold as he stared up at the blue sky. There was no time for him to take in the sights! Grunting loudly the boy maneuvered his body in a frantic manner, righting himself before slamming both hands and feet against the rocky face of the cliff. Chakra flowed to both hands and feet as he tried to increase the friction between his limbs and the cliff, aiming to slow his descent and possibly stop it completely. The rate at which he was falling though was still quite alarming despite it slowing noticeably. Eventually, if Suzaku kept this up he'd come to a stop but the cost would be his hands as he already felt the skin over his palms and fingers tearing away, the jagged rocks providing no real smooth surface to slide against. Doing his best to endure the sharp pains, the youth continued to apply his chakra but in the end would pull his hands away, his bleeding appendages moving down behind his back as he remained hunched over, still using his sandal covered feet to provide some connection to the wall. Even his feet were in agony at this point, the sandals quickly wearing away as he slid down the cliff's wall.
Working quickly, Suzaku's hands would grasp at two kunai, holding one in each hand before bringing them forward and suddenly slamming their blades straight into the wall, using his superior strength to try and break through the surface. His tired muscles made the act all the harder but surprisingly the boy would manage to penetrate the rocky surface, the blade sinking in and stopping his descent suddenly, his hands shoulders enduring a sudden surge of pain as his entire weight was supported by only his arms and bloodied hands. The surprise of the sudden stop and the suddenness of the sharp and tugging pain would cause his arms to go momentarily numb, his grip on the handles slipping as he began to fall again, although much slower. Doing his best to maintain his current posture, continuing to slide along the wall on just his feet, Suzaku moved to grab two more kunai, striking the wall yet again, this time mentally and physicall preparing for the sudden stop. Like before Suzaku's arms were subject to a sudden stretch and yanking pain as his hands fought to keep their grip on the handles. This time the teen managed to keep his hold, his trembling hands fighting against all fatigue in an attempt to maintain their grip on the two makeshift climbing spikes. Suzaku couldn't keep going like this. He was too tired to make it to the top. He had to go down. Glancing down with a reluctant look, the boy began to pull one of the kunai from the wall, using the other for a handhold as he slowly scaled down the wall using the kunai and his chakra, growing exhausted by the second yet somehow managing to maintain his concentration enough to make it to a reasonable height before suddenly pushing off the wall, letting his body fall. The landing would prove to be more painful than he anticipated but far from fatal given that he made sure not to fall on his head or neck. Twisting in the air just a bit Suzaku managed to fall on his hands and feet, his four point stance helping distribute the impact of the fall as the force of the landing bled off his body. SIghing heavily he'd then collapse, giving himself some time to rest before making his trek back to the village.
- Jutsu:
Name: Kinobori no Waza • Act of Tree Climbing Rank: D Type: N/A Range: N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique allows the user to balance themselves on trees and vertical walls by focusing a constant and steady stream of chakra to the user’s feet. Gravity can easy be defined if this technique is mastered, allowing people to even stand upside down. If too much chakra is exerted the user will be pushed away; bark breaking and causing the user to then fall. If not enough chakra is exerted the user will lose their footing and fall. Chakra Cost: 1 (1 per post)
