| Kuroi Hinode approached the gates to the large village, the guards who stood waiting noticed him and went on edge and drew weapons quickly but did not attack. Kuroi made no motion of slowing down or even that the guards were ready to attack him, he merely pulled out a scroll that bore the insignia of the mist on it "I was recruited from the Ashigaru clan, your weapons are not needed unless you wish to fight" Kuroi tossed one the scroll and stopped a few feet away both hands resting on the hilts of his katanas he had resting on his waist.
This scroll had on it the agreement between the Ashigaru and the Hiden Mist Village for Hinode Kuroi Ashigaru, medic and ninja of the Ashigaru keep to be contracted and therefore become a genin of Kiri-gakure "If that clears everything up, I'll be taking my leave, I would like to get to know my new home a little bit" One guard looked to the other and gave a small nod as both slowly re-sheathed their weapons and gave a small bow "welcome to the Village hidden in the mist, we hope you dont cause any trouble, and sorry for the inconvenience" Kuroi merely smiled and bowed his head slightly before passing them
"Now, where would I like to find first..." He looked about at the surrounding areas. He looked down a large street with very few peoples moving about, and a light mist covered the area for its namesake. He started walking down a small path to the right away from the main road hoping he would find something to his interest, such as a place to eat or training grounds. |

| Saya lurks on the rooftops, her sturdy cloak concealing most of her form. The demonic mask was shaded beneath the wide dome shaped helmet on her head, the symbol of Kirigakure embossed in bright gold, impossible to miss, waves. She had heard something of her cousin traveling through Kiri’s lands, and decided it best to meet him for herself.
Among her clan she was always thought to be a talented warrior, so it would be nice to meet one of the other select few commissioned out to the various villages. If he was on par with her skill, then Kirigakure was sure to win any upcoming wars. She spied him from the rooftops before he reached the gates, watching him approach before making herself hidden. Saya wasn’t the best at stealth, but she did know the city better.
She watches and waits as the other Ashigaru chooses the less populated alleyway to wander down. Behind her mask she smirks a bit, moving quietly to approach the ally from behind. As she takes a position on the roof behind him, she pulls two of her heavy throwing axes from their place on her thigh. She readies them both and draws back her arm.
She throws them both in quick succession, though her aim was not to slay her cousin. The first axe flies just past his head, imbedding itself in the stone ground ahead of him. It would give him just a second of warning before the second one would impact. The second blade, sharp and fast, could indeed do some damage if it managed to find its mark in the boy’s flesh. Saya didn’t spend much time watching.
Just a moment after she releases the second blade she jumps down from the rooftops and onto the narrow alley below. She makes no other attacks, but while Kuroi was distracted with defending himself, she repositions herself to be standing openly in the street some twenty feet away from him. |

| The first went whizzing by his head a warning the only thought that flashed through his mind before hearing the second behind him. Body moved on instinct as his mind went blank of emotion, he spun quickly feeling the blade graze the back of his arm just enough to give him a mark, his hand shot back from the trajectory and mark on his arm he caught the handle quickly and readied to return it to the rooftop. he saw nothing and looked down to the street behind him
He saw her standing out in the open, how could she be missed. he judged the weight of the axe in his hand and his eyes narrowed and a smile crept slowly across his face "an ashigaru throwing axe if I ever felt one... I heard rumors of another being sent here, but didnt know for sure" he flipped the axe around in his hand to hold it away from him to hand back to her "I honestly didnt expect to meet you so quickly"
he started to walk towards her and threw the axe back casually, he didn't expect it to harm her but he didn't throw it easily either, more to see her reaction than anything "you dropped something by the way" |

| She's all grins behind her mask when he catches the ax, figuring something of the effect would happen. "I have been waiting here all morning. I was informed another Ashigaru was coming here, and had to see for myself. Nice catch." she says as she tracks the returning ax with her eyes. She catches it easily enough, setting it back behind the secure confines of her bulky cloak. She pulls off her helment and mask as he approaches, always one to listen to manners.
She didn't mind showing her face to family anyway. "I'm Saru Saya, it's great to have you in town. Kiri's a strong nation, and war is just on the horizon. There should be some interesting, and bloody years ahead of us here." She says, as though the prospect was indeed a positive thing. She advertised it as though war was good for tourism. "There's many other skilled soldiers in this village.. though few as strong as I am."
With her mask off her face is easily seen, and her voice more easily heard. She wears a constant smirk on her lips as she speaks, especially when referring to herself. She gestures to herself with a thumb pointed at her chest. "I've been around this town a few times, and no one can match me with a sword. You've got big shoes to fill if you're gonna be sure the Ashigaru name stays strong." With her cloak opened more the massive number of weapons she carries becomes more obvious. Perhaps a lot even by Ashigaru standards, 9 different weapons can be seen equipped on her body, not counting the various kunai and shuriken. She also has 2 pouches full of other tools, keeping her well prepared for any situation. She seemed as serious as most of the Ashigaru drill instructors. Clearly a teachers pet. |

| He looked to the side as she mentioned she heard about his coming "hmm... so they let it be known I was coming? I am not like the others of our clan." A vexed sound escaped his throat as he shook his head "and the guards didnt seem to know about me, maybe you just know where to listen ehh?" he sighed heavily "unlike many of our clan, my only use isn't combat, I'm also a medic" he spit at the ground before speaking "my teacher bless him, had me with held from the tournament... feared I would kill some of my opponents, and argued that I would be of better use treating the injured" the last he spoke in a mocking tone even though it was clear he respected his teacher
"By the way, my name is Hinode Kuroi" he said with a slight bow "and about time I will get to see some combat, perhaps we will test if your words speak true, and this is a strong nation or not" he paused slightly for a smirk "but with the two of us here it cant hurt, and if the other warriors are skilled as you say, I can keep them going as long as we do"
he gazed lightly upon her face, his black eyes meeting hers a small light from the mention of war sparked interest and it held. his eyes lit a little more and his smile became amused "perhaps you can show me a few places of interest then, perhaps some food, or a good place to train" he paused to let a mirth filled laugh rumble through his chest "and maybe we can see how good you really are with that sword of yours" he turned to start walking and a few faint chinks of metal against metal could be heard but his swords never met "And, nice weapons... you carry almost as many as I wish to... there are a few things I'm lacking from our standard issue.... that I will have to either make myself or find someone with good enough quality forge work to make for me" |

| "You should have done that before you left home!" she says with a smirk, and a laugh. "Kiri's weapon smiths are fine, I suppose, but none compair to the smiths we grew up near. Sure, there's lots of places to see in Kiri, but you'll find it's a bit of a small town. I've yet to even find a proper training grounds in all the land. Food, on the otherhand, there is plenty of!"
Saya tucks her mask away under her cloak, resting it's straps over the handle of her katana. She motions ahead and begins walking towards the market place. "Every day the markets are pretty busy with traffic. Depending on what you like there's a huge amount of fresh fruits and vegetables, rice and pasta and the like. There are also a dozen great resturants on the market's edges." she says as she leads on, walking easily enough beside her cousin. She motions around as though she owned the place, when Saya had only lived here for about 4 years. "There's a forge and armory on the outskirts of town. They've got some bright people in there, they helped me make some of my more useful tools."
"But this city has everything else you could ask for.. except sunshine. The surrounding forest has more dangerous monsters than you can shake a stick at, and the surrounding swamps certainly aren't much better. It's a tough city, and it has tough villagers, and tough shinobi." she says with a proud nod. Like any ashigaru she already felt undying pride for the city she represented. "It's not the biggest town, but its people are endlessly resilient. Kiri citizens look out for their own." |

| "Yeah, I know I should have gotten that taken care or, but I can either make it myself here, and from what you said, I should be able to get a decent quality item from the blacksmiths here." He took a deep breath, he was enjoying the little talk, and didnt expect to find someone like this to talk to so quickly. "I was able to watch a little bit of the blacksmiths work when I was on down time from medical training back home... so I have a basic idea of how things are done"
Kuroi listened for a while as she spoke running through his mind something that might be good to eat, he could probably cook a decent meal but didnt want to go through the bother of buying prepping and cooking the food at the moment "hmm.. I've been traveling all morning, and from the sounds of it you have been waiting for me to get here ehh? how about we go find one of those reseraunts for the time being?" he smiled and turned to walk backwards and face her while they talked
he also listened to her next explination "haha, what good is sunshine anyways? makes it easier for your opponent to find you, and you to find your opponent" he laughed slightly "and from the sounds of it, there are plenty of great training grounds out in that forest ne? or even the swamps, whats wrong with something that tries to eat us as a little bit of a warm up? or even a little contest" he smiled again and turned to walk forward one more "a small town where everyone fights is stronger then a nation full of cowards" |

| "Eh." she says in response to his question. "They aren't so much a challenge as they are a nuisance. The occasional giant centipede trampling through your personal space really throws all the energy out of a slow moving kata. They're not really hard to kill. Their shells protect them from some things, but a sword will still penetrate it easy enough. One good shot between the eyes and the fight is over. Honestly, those centipedes are the strongest thing I've come across. They're both extremely fast, and very armored."
"I've found a few nice places that are free of too much commotion where you can swing a blade around as much as you want, and not harm any villagers. I've been considering the idea of donating some of the coin I've earned working here towards having something built. I'll show you some of the larger spaces later, and we can have a little match if you want." she says as she walks, approaching the bustling market place.
Kiri's marketplace was a good size, but compact. Countless citizens wandered through stores an in between booths, all in search of a myriad of different items. Almost anything could be found in Kiri's marketplace, from medicinal and illicit herbs, to fine wines, expensive silks, and top quality rugs. The free trade and open market made Kiri's one of the most desired markets in the land. Saya leads along the market's perimeter in a clockwise direction, searching out a good noodle hut. "There's delicious food in this village. It took me a while to stop eating so much rice, and treat myself to more meat. Saddly, once you've eaten away from home, you won't want to go back.." |

| Kuroi sighed at her description of the dangerous animals that she had encountered a disappointment really, he was hoping for something that might actually threaten his life for a change. "well... perhaps I can assist in the creation of one of these training grounds, I have learned a few tricks, and... well need to practice one that my sensei showed me before I left... its rather destructive for a punch" he smirked slightly remembering the crater left behind
Kuroi remembered back to the meals that were prepared for him back home and shivered slightly, he had never cared to much for the rice. "rice... was never one of my favorites, I always preferred to cook my own meals, the medics ate much better then the rest of them, and I learned alot from the few cooks... more about poisons that are undetectable, but your food having to be appetizing first or something like that" he chuckled slightly "but why use poison for something you can accomplish with a blade ehh?" he smiled and nudged her gently as they walked along the outside of the market, he scanned the crowed with a level gaze learning what he could about the people and the locations of the shops, and tried to find the blacksmith. "so, what do you think would be good to eat around here?" |

| "Sometime spicey!" She says, finally steering the two into a noodle shop. It was little more than a stove with a wooden frame around it. It had an awening to provide the few seats at the bar some shade, and a curtain to act as a wall. It wasn't much, but the aroma surrounding the place was just intoxicating. Exotic spices from every corner of the world were used here, and the place was known for it's firey hot dishes. Saya sits herself down at the bar, her cloak gathering around the chair beneath her and rustles against the ground.
She hails the server over, needing no menu for herself. "Spicey chiken and vegetables! Two stars!" she says, and waves to the polite serving lady. The lady looks to Kuroi expectantly just afterwards. Saya's stomach rumbles just slightly as she inhales all the delicious smells. The busy marketplace behind them fades away into memory as they sit down for some lunch.
The back wall of the place was littered with a dazzling array of choices, enough to overwhelm anyone trying to pick anything for the first time. Saya gives him a moment to stare, then pipes up helpfully. "Just get what I got. It's really good, and really hot. It's like eating fire, you wouldn't believe it, but it's so delicious. They serve it with cold, sweetened tea that is really good with it." she advises quietly, grinning the whole time. Even she hadn't tried everything here. Really, old habits die hard. She tends to order the same thing every time. "And go with just the one star..it's a one to five scale, and five is.. I dunno, it's nothing you've ever felt. It's pretty good, though." |

| Kuroi lifts a brow at her small explination "I'll take the same thing three stars though" he smirks at her before taking his seat and looking about the place, for such a small ramen bar it seemed to smell as though there was nothing possibly better to eat "well then, scale of one to five?, I wonder if they can make a six" he laughed slightly with the thought, if she says two is bad I wonder how good this is gonna be he smiled and took a deep breath taking in the mixture of aromas filling the air from the different food shops.
as he exhaled slowly, none seemed to even match where they stood in and he smiles "you make a good call in food from the smell of the area around us" he laughed slightly before thinking to himself I wonder if we would be able to hunt enough to create a small area void of any creatures to interupt our training... or maybe that hill, it might be a good spot the different possibilities went through his mind, and he tried to recall somewhere they might be able to train on his way here
Not to long later the same serving girl brought their food to them, he took a deep breath over his bowl and winced slightly, he could already tell he was going to love this from the peppers that were rolling off of it |

| (We're just warming up, this is an introduction topic. Besides, we're both genin and posting above the jounin word limit. =P You're watching two action stars eating lunch.. when the explosions start, there will be more to watch!)
Saya laughs just a little bit. She understood well enough the thrill of a new challenge, and did the same thing herself, the first time. Pain tolerance was something their family was renowned for, but the spicy peppers was something different than a body ache, or injury. She eyes the cook as she wanders her way to the kitchen to begin food preparation. "Suit yourself, either way it tastes great. Kirigakure has a hundred little diners like this, and they're all great. Not a lot of them serve the spicy food like they do here. This little stand is defiantly the hottest in town. A lot of people come here, but most avoid it like the pits of hell."
The cook snickers as she prepares the chicken in a hot stir-fry pan. Oil and sesame, peppers and vegetables. Eventually she'd add broth and noodles, then a little bit of the red powder that made the food so painfully yummy, but for now the smell was just becoming the appetizer. Saya stays quiet a moment, letting her eyes wander over the younger boy for a moment. She grins a bit when she sees his sword, and spends a moment inspecting it. When she speaks again, she completely changes the subject.
"So a medic, huh? You seem kinda young, you must be pretty smart. I could never remember all that stuff about the body. I just learned where best to cut, now how to stitch it up. I guess the extra learning does come with benefits though. Most of the officers went to the medic school." she says, and looks back up towards his face. Her own sword was well hidden behin her cloak most of the time. "It's a crying shame that they made you sit out on the tournaments. I won the first two I was in." |

| (sry for the long reply time... was busy most of yesterday, half of it unexpected lol... and adam, cut me some slack... its been 4 months lol)
Kuroi nodded "yeah, I didnt have much talent with many weapons, only ranged weapons and the sword for some reason... I could plant an arrow in your heart from one hundred fifty yards, but I could smack you in the head with a spear to save my life if you know how to defend it" he chuckled slightly and sighed "and as for the tournaments, you would have my teacher to blame for that, he saw what I could do with a sword and bow... and these little things here as well" he smirked as he reached into the front of his shirt through the neck and pulled up two things attached to some rope.
They Chimed against each other as they dangled loose in his hands "Rope dart, and meteor hammer, capable of killing at 20 yards just as effective as any spear, instead of just puncturing I have the option of smashing your skull before you can even reach me" he tucked them away back into his shirt where they hung unnoticeable from his baggy clothes "but yeah, having the medic training was nice in more ways then one, I learned how to do alot more with chakra then any of the others, which gives me a little bit of an edge... and I know ways to kill without actually killing upfront, certain places on the body are quite vulnerable to even the hand rather then a blade" |

| "Nice choice of weapons. I have a Kusarigama, but the chain isn't so long. I throw things from a distance, but I prefer to close range. I have all manner of weapon to attack at close range with. I'm not so bad with my chakra control either. Took me a long time to get it down, and I still can't really use jutsu... but I've gotten pretty good at controlling the chakra in my body." she says as their food arrives. She pauses for a moment and smiles to the old lady behind the counter.
After she's left, Saya continues. "Sadly, there are few weaponry users in Kiri. I've been assigned to two different instructors and niether of them knew how to properly hold a sword. I doubt they could even have grasped the basic techniques of thrusting a spear. Not to say they are weak. Both were quite strong in their own right." she says with a nod, giving her noodles just a moment to cool down. Back in the Ashigaru stronghold, eating time wasn't spent in conversation. Hot food didn't hurt her, she enjoyed more leisure on days she had off. "I haven't seen too many of them in action, because no one just fights in the streets around here. But from what I've seen, Kiri has a pretty solid army going."
It took her some time, but Saya broke most of her soldierly table habits with time. She picks up her chopsticks and begins to feed herself a moderate pace, apparently in no rush to finish. There was a time when she had all of five minutes to finish her meal, but those days were over when she left her family. She plucks out a piece of chicken and eats it, grinning some. The heat of her dish was remarkable enough. Those who savor a good burn, but still enjoy flavor, prefer the two stars. The three stars is, quite literally, twice as hot. And the four another doubling in heat. Saya tried the five stars once, and was commended for finishing her meal. The lingering discomfort, however, disturbed her training for days afterwards. Ashigaru are not immune to all effects of spicy food.. as Kuroi may soon learn. |

| Kuroi smiled "my weapons are traditional... but they more then get the job done, its a shame you cant find anyone worth while to train you with that sword of yours. and as for the jutsu... I'm not that special.. the only reason I was able to pickup on the medic tricks they taught me was hours a day working to get them down" he sniffed lightly as the food came and bowed his head thankfully to the serving girl
Still being used to the quick time allotted on food he began to eat quickly, a very grave mistake. As the noodles his the back of is throat he had to fight to keep down a cough as his eyes watered. He took a deep breath through his nose as he swallowed the mouthful of noodles and chicken and paused for a short moment to gaze, eyes watering, upon the marvelous bowl of food. his words came breathy and broken "holy shit... this... is hot as hell"[b] he smiled and began to eat once again at a quick pace, he could feel his face warming quickly and the heat quickly began to spread about his body as he began to sweat
Body warm and sweat upon his brow he finished the noodles and chicken with a smile [b]"god... I never even got something so spicy even with the medics cooking" he laughed as well as he could still gasping from the burning sensation in his mouth he began to drink the iced tea slowly letting the cool drink linger on his tongue to help the burning go down "you.. definatly were not kidding... but this is amazing" |

| "Yeah, it'll really teach you to take your time." she says with a little smirk, watching him eat his noodles in likely record time. The lady behind the counter just stares in amazment, and mutters something about the kids these days. Saya's mouth burned too, but her slower pace made all the difference. She just savored the wicked burn as one of the few sorts of pain she can actually feel. It was so different than being stabbed, slashed, or beaten with a stick. "It is something like eating fire. A unique feeling to be sure. I love this place, it's my favorite of the various noodle stands littered around the marketplace."
Saya would finish off her food quicker than most, but horribly slow when compared to Kuroi. She sets her chopsticks down and fishes through the pockets of her cloak for some coins to leave for her meal. "I hope you end up finding a good sensei to teach you more about sword play. But it just might end up being you and me. There's another boy named Lark, who I hear uses weapons. I dunno. I've only seen him flying. He's got wings, it's pretty bizarre. Currently I'm under a Hyuuga. He's decent in fighting, but I dunno. Kinda.. peace loving." she says with a little shrug.
"But he's still fast, and can help me learn. He summons all sorts of clones, so you can stab all you want and not worry about killing him. Convenient really, since he doesn't carry a sword. He just likes to kick and punch. I was never one for unarmed combat. Seems lacking something.." |

| After taking a few more gulps of his tea he takes a deep breath, the fire dancing in his mouth quelled slightly "definitely nothing like being stabbed. I like the heat though... the medics cooked sometimes, and had a few spicy dishes so its something I'm a little more used to" he grinned slightly and took another deep breath "soo... my new home ehh... I could get used to it here, nothing like our keep... but I guess I'll adjust as needed"
Kuroi pondered for a moment "yeah, a good sensei would be nice, but isnt that up to the council and mizukage to decide? I hope I get paired with someone competent enough in combat to watch my back if I need it... the way these ninja fight is not like we were taught. he paused for a moment and looked about the place a bit more now taking in the scene and various colors on the shop "someone who can fly?? that will be something to see, and if he uses weapons... well I wonder how well, might be someone else for us to train with... and a hyuuga? arent they from the leaf village, thats the only place I remember hearing about them from.
Kuroi chuckled slightly "Yeah, the specialize in hand to hand combat, if they knew anatomy as well as they knew the chakra system, well I'll just say swords wouldnt be needed by them. And clones eh? that should be interesting to see as well, something you can slash and stab without consequence or worry?" A large almost menacing smile lit across his face as he thought if I have people I dont have to worry about holding back with, I should be able to progress alot more with my sword then I did back home, and maybe someone here can teach me how to use this new Katana's material... it would be interesting to know what a blade that can utilize chakra can do "soo... you sensei is at least smart enough to stay alive and let you slash at him.. I wonder about any of the other teachers though, heh, maybe I'll get paired with one of them.. I hope they can keep up and teach me something" |

| Saya shrugs a little bit and stands up from her seat at the bar. She collects her mask and her helmet and steps back into the streets. Expecting Kuroi to follow, she begins talking and wanders into Kiri and away from the marketplace. "Well, I haven't beaten any of the jounin's yet, but it's only a matter of time. Kakuhan used mostly plants that did most of his fighting for him, and Demo has mostly used earth style ninjutsu to just disable me. He got me a few times with some very fast taijutsu, however I am tougher than most people."
Saya turns towards the more residential districts of Kiri, filled mostly with cottages and apartment buildings. "If he did not use so many clones, I would defeat him easily enough. I'm not a fan of clones. I find them somewhat cowardly. He removes himself from a fight to win his battle. There's no glory in that. The first time we fought I defeated him twice, but both turned out to be clones." she says as she walks, then begins to smile. She shifts around in her cloak a little bit, feeling around in some of the pockets hidden inside of it.
When she speaks next, she completely changes the topic. "Other than your meteor hammer, and dart, do you have any other unique weapons? I have been collecting all sorts since I arrived. I have a great many!" she says excitedly, smiling quite cheerfully about her ever expanding collection of deadly tools. Indeed, if anything could bring out Saya's happy side, it was talk of her many weapons. She took great pride in them, and it easily showed. All were spotless, without stains or dirt. Time spent cleaning her weapons just better helped her learn every inch of each one. |

| "Why on earth would someone use plants?? how on earth could someone use plants to fight" he was confused by this meaning not even caring about the cowardice of the clones, for each one made, their opponent would become that much weaker, so he did not care how many clones someone used if he could hold his ground against them "I simply see no logic in that, or how a plant would even be useful in combat" he sighed and looked at her confused for a moment but shook his head leaving it behind
"I dont mind someone using clones, for every one that they use they will grow fatigued and get weaker and weaker, I will just have to hold my ground until they cant summon any more and have to show themselves or run away like the cowards they are, and once they start to run, well... I can persue" Kuroi smiled evilly as his hands trailed up his shoulder and around to the weights hanging on his chest
"well... as of now I have not been able to acquire much, My senseis both gave me a parting gift, my weapon master gave me the rope dart, and meteor hammer, and my medical teacher gave me this he slowly drew an almost strait black katana, forged very much like the traditional ashigaru blade. "this is made out of... well what he told me a special material that will absorb the users chakra and be able to mold itself out of that, I have not been able to train with it yet, and know very little about it, its also weighted for off hand use, so I can use it in conjunction with my other sword" he smiled as he slightly drew the other katana at his waist "Aside from that, I have a few small sidearms that I would like to have forged, I saw only a few while in the keep but they interested me. A small whip like thing, with several metal rods linked together, I may also pick up a war fan, they are nifty things when you wish to confuse an opponent, and I also need to find a Fletcher, a good bow and a set of arrows would be a very nice addition"
Kuroi smirked as he looked over, his own collection was not yet very vast but he soon would have enough various weapons covering his body to match or even surpass her count, and planned to train with all of them as well keep up with his own training of sword and medical, there was little room for improvement with his bow except he may be able to develop some tricks with his chakra "what about you Saya? what kind of trinkets have you managed to obtain in your time away f rom the keep... and where might I be able to obtain a few of my own?" |

| Just a short hop from the marketplace, barely even out of the market's district, Saya takes a sudden turn to the left. She steps down a short alley that's been fenced off from the public. The chainlink fence is overgrown with climbing vines and leaves, but only seven feet tall. As if it wasn't even there, Saya simply hops over the fence and lands on the other side. She waits for Kuroi before continuing on, speaking as she does. "Well, you would be surprised. All sorts of plants and bushes came to life like zombies or something, and tried to hunt me down. They weren't very lethal on their own, but Kakuhan was pretty smart. He used them to distract, used vines to grab me, and used his own fire jutsu thing to fry me pretty good. Of course, we fought after I had just finished a loooong day of training, so I wasn't at my best." she says with a little nod.
The place Saya led to was just a wide open space. At one time a small warehouse had sat on the locaton, but now only a wide flat slab of concrete remained. Weeds grew up through a few cracks in the foundation, and the feild around it was over grow with shrubs, small trees, and grass. "This is where I've been using as a place to practice." She says as she motions around herself. The wide open space was ideal, and only the occasional bird seemed to invade the place. "It's nice and away from the prying eyes of Kiri's citizens, and offers more than enough room to attack things with a sword."
"I have all sorts of weapons." she contines, and draws open her cloak. She flings half over her shoulder, the bulky metal thing folding over unwillingly, and putting it's extra weight over her shoulder. "I have my spears, of course, as well as my Katana. I would show it off, however my sword is somewhat plain in design. She is lethal in functionality, though, so she only comes out when I've reason to kill. I also have, my Kyoketsu Shoge." she says and motions to her very kusari gama like weapon. Instead of a small weight on the chain, it bore a heavy steel ring about 5 inches in diameter. The normal sickle end was also replaced with a rounded, hook shaped knife which was very sharp. "I have a pair of short swords for defense, as well as my splinter bombs. I dunno about a bow, though, Bows are so slow. They're accuracy is greatly affected by mobility. The best application of something like a bow is while mounted, but such a skill requires a large amount of mastery to become even a little effective. I leave the bow for the archer towers."
Saya lifts her right arm and turns it over, exposing the Steel bracer on her wrist, and the length of narrow steel pipe attached to it. There was a narrow channel cut through the steel making something of a window, with a lever at the bottom end of it. "I had this made, but haven't had good reason to use it yet. It's pretty effective, though." she says as she aims her hand at a small tree, and slams her left hand into the lever on the tube. Inside the heavy spring releases, and with a quiet click a long steel spike shoots out of the tip. It flies about 30 feet pretty quickly, and then lodges itself deep in the tree. |

| He easily followed her over the gate, it was rather easy to jump when he thought about all he could do with chakra, before as a child he would have thought that impossible but now did it without a second thought "so he used them mainly as a diversion to open opportunities to attack, that actually quite clever" Kuroi could honor a wise move with an otherwise useless attribute, its a way to be creative and catch people off guard "well, if you had just finished training, pushing yourself to such limits is a good way to become stronger and faster, I would like to get a set of weights for such training, and see what I can really push myself to"
he quickly scanned the area which she led him, it looked a very good spot to train, and since it was fenced off there would be no civilians who would manage to get caught up in a small fray or spar and luckily for himself and Saya, they would not be firing off any extremely destructive jutsu that would cause any wide area damage, and would likely not attract any onlookers from explosions "yes this actually seems like an amazing place to train, as long as we keep it to swords and weapons we should have little to no problem with citizens, but if we have someone firing off fireball after fireball we could attract some unwanted attention"
he listened and thought about each weapon in his mind spear and katana standard issue, and that cape of hers looks nice to probably custom made, Kyoketsu shoge ehh, will have to keep an eye on that one, she gets it hooked around my blades and well, dont want to think about it from there. the splinter bomb was something he had not heard of before "splinter bomb? that sounds almost more of a nuisance than a real weapon, what does it do?" his head cocked to the side slightly, as she revealed the bracer on her arm, he could already imagine what was going to happen with the small sight and rod on her forearm.
"that could be a pretty interesting opener to catch someone off guard though, or when they get a little to close such as a sword tie up" a few different thoughts went through his mind with that particular weapon, a few uses with a bow could be found if he cared to make it. "but anyways, yeah a bow is fairly limited in use, but in conjunction to fighting with you, I'm sure you could see a few different applications, and I have also... become rather skilled in the art of a bow, and mounted archery would not be a difficult feat for me, nor a shot on the run, or in a close quarters situation if my opponent is slow" he smirked slightly a bow had more use if you cared to find them, and he was glad people wouldnt see right out |

| "Oh.. well, it was just something I came up with to deal with unarmored, very fast moving opponents." She says as she fishes one out of it's pocket in her cloak. She holds it up for inspection. The outside was made of wood, and was something of a pear shape. It was bound in a thin layer of cheese cloth, and had a pin sticking out of the top. "When it explodes it sends wooden splinters flying everywhere. The fuse is less than a second long on it, too, so getting away is pretty much.. eh... hard. It's alright, though, because I designed it to be way to weak to pucture armor. With my mask and cloak on, I could balance it on my head and let it explode, and it wouldn't even ring my ears. But exposed skin gets sprayed with splinters."
"I'll grant you it's not deadly, but it gives me space when I need it." she adds as she puts it away, back into the confines of her coak. "And almost everyone fights with their eyes exposed. It does certainly have it's uses. My favored weapons, of course, my Katana and my Kyketsu Shoge. Both are deadly in the extreme, and serve a hundred purposes. Next would be my traditional spear. It was may favorite for a long time, but it is better on the field than in shinobi battles."
With her hands empty once more, saya grabs the little lever she pressed on her spike shooter before. With great effort she pulls on it, drawing back the spring until she can hear it lock in place. She reaches behind her and fishes out another spike, then carefully slides it in through the front of the tube. It too locks into place, pushing past a few metal ribbons that hold it snug until it fires. |

| " I'll keep in mind to bring glasses or something when I work with you, I can see the use of that little thing, but doubt it would slow me down much, or you even without that cloak of yours, the only issue would be as you said, the eyes" he smirked lightly as his hands came to rest on the hilts of his katana as he stood strait and faced Saya with a large smile his stance widening a little bit as he stood
a light was shining in his eyes, one he had not held since he got here, it seemed to make the looks he had while talking about weapons or getting food seem more as boredom "its been itching you too hasnt it... I've been traveling the last few weeks, and havnt come across a challenge yet..." his smile became a bit more ammused "you said you were good with that sword didn't you? and I would like to see the rest of these weapons you have obtained in action, maybe see what I can use effectively against a competent opponent... we both know what each other has, so nothing to catch each other off guard, why dont we have a little match" his stance looked ready but not yet threatening |

| Saya smiles a little brighter. "Well, I don't have my practice blade with me, but I'm willing to risk a few cuts if you are." she says with a little grin. She turns to face Kuroi better, having led him to the best place for such a fight. She had such a plan in mind when she came this way. A quick match with a worthy competitor was always a good way to work off the extra calories of lunch. Saya smirks just slightly more, a familiar expression amongst the clan. Pure confidence, Saya couldn't possibly lose this match. "But I can go easy on you. I'd hate to hurt you your first day in town."
"Tell you what. You seemed to like the Meteor Hammer, and it's a weapon I haven't fought against many times. You start off with that, and I'll let you pick whatever weapon you want me to start with. They're all dangerous enough. After the match starts, you can do whatever you wish, with whatever weapons you wish, but I'd like to see what you've got with the hammer." she continues with a grin. Indeed she spoke the truth. The meteor hammer was similar to her own kusarigama, but was much longer. It also lacked the cutting blade, which was useful if the opponent got close.
Saya backs a way a little bit as she speaks, positioning herself about 20 feet away from her cousin. She pauses there and turns to face Kuroi, then opens her cloak again to better display her weapons. She has many.. very many. "Take your pick, I love them all. A shame my spear is at home." |
