Akimaru was so excited. He had been summoned by the Hokage himself to do accompany him with a mission, along with another Jounin. The Jounin seemed rather irrelevant, but Akimaru didn't want to seem nasty so he made sure he would be just as polite to the Jounin as he was to his Hokage. His stomach felt like it was eating itself from the inside, butterflies a thing of the past. Akimaru had seen Kamina before, but he had never spoken to him directly, nevermind go on a mission with him.

Akimaru began to wonder how the Hokage had found him, out of all the ninja at his command in the village. He began to think great things about himself, and had to catch himself mid thought, before he became too ambiguous. Akimaru was waiting outside the village gates of Konoha. It was early in the morning, and he was so excited he had arrived at least fifteen minutes earlier than needed. He was sat on a warm rock, waiting for the other two to arrive.

The sun was shining and the sky was a bright blue. There were a few fluffy white clouds, but nothing threatening. The weather didn't look like it would change. The weather made Akimaru happy. The only thing dampening his mood was the fact he was well aware this was a S-Rank mission, and even though he was with the Hokage and a Jounin, there was still a massive threat involved. His other worry was that he would be a dead weight and that the others wouldn't need him.

But then he thought if would be dead weight, the Hokage wouldn't have asked for him specifically. "But did he? You don't know he did. You could've just been thrown in the team..." Akimaru thought to himself. He thought about asking the Hokage himself, but then he thought that might be a disrespectful. He hoped his inability to talk would hold him back. He wanted to make his best impression on the Hokage. "And the Jounin, don't forget about the Jounin." Akimaru reminded himself, waiting for the others to arrive.
