I wanted to get this jutsu approved before I submitted my character application, just because this jutsu is an essential part of my character. Wanted to make sure it was an acceptable idea before I base my entire character application off of it. :-)

Description:

The Spirit Extension Technique is unique to Shinda of the Omen clan. It has come to be known as her signature technique, and is the centerpiece of her entire jutsu arsenal.

Upon performing the correct handseals, the user’s spirit is slowly separated from their body. The activation of this technique immediately causes the user to lose consciousness.
The projected spiritual image acts as a hologram of the user’s physical body, made up entirely of their chakra. The user controls their spiritual form in the same manner they would control their physical body. However, there are a few key differences. The astral form does not possess any density or weight, and cannot emit a shadow. It is not subject to gravity, allowing the user to float freely through the air. The astral form is identical to the user’s physical body when fully materialized. Often, only sensory ninja are able to tell the difference.

The user is also able to slightly control the physical form of their astral image. Although it cannot be dramatically manipulated, the user can choose to materialize specific parts of their astral body. For example, Shinda’s astral form often appears as nothing more than a pair of eyes and a mouth floating in the air, in order to save on chakra.

The astral form interacts with its surroundings in a very interesting way. The user is able to see, speak, hear, and smell as they normally would in their physical body. However, they are not able to touch or physically interact with their surroundings except by exerting chakra in order to do so. Conversely, the astral form cannot be affected by its physical surroundings. In combat, this means it cannot be harmed by normal physical attacks.

However, because the astral form is a direct projection of the user’s own spiritual chakra, it is extremely susceptible to chakra based ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu techniques. The projected astral form is 25% more sensitive to chakra based attacks than the user’s physical body. Pain experienced in the astral form is immediately transferred to the user’s brain and nervous system, which appropriately injures the body.

Shinda uses this technique in combination with her kekkei genkai in order to produce amazing results. She is able to transport her astral form anywhere within the limits of her kekkei genkai instantaneously. Shinda uses this technique as her main form of transportation, only returning to her physical body when absolutely necessary. Shinda is the crème de la crème of sensory and tracking shinobi. She is able to freely and instantly move about the world, appearing and reappearing whenever she pleases. She is also able to engage other shinobi in combat, knowing that her actual body is safely hidden many miles away.

Range: Unlimited, as it is augmented by Shinda's Kekkei Genkai (Omen Clan, Tsu Sect)

Chakra Cost: Because the user’s physical body is in a stationary and relaxed state during the spirit extension technique, it does not require an incredibly extensive amount of chakra to maintain. However, it does have its limits. The amount of chakra required to maintain the technique vary from rank to rank.

Rank C -- 50% of the user’s overall chakra supply is required to maintain the technique. Therefore, the astral form is only allotted 50% of the user’s overall chakra supply. If the user expends any chakra beyond this amount, the astral form dissipates. In accordance to the chakra reserves table, this means the user is only allowed 3 C-Ranked jutsu and 7 D-Ranked jutsu while in astral form before reaching exhaustion.

Rank B -- 30% of the user’s overall chakra supply is required to maintain the technique. Therefore, the astral form is only allotted 70% of the user’s overall chakra supply. If the user expends any chakra beyond this amount, the astral form dissipates. In accordance to the chakra reserves table, this means the user is only allowed 5 B-Ranked jutsu, 10 C-Ranked jutsu, and 20 D-Ranked jutsu in astral form before reaching exhaustion.

Rank A -- 10% of the user’s overall chakra supply is required to maintain the technique. Therefore, the astral form is only allotted 90% of the user’s overall chakra supply. If the user expends any chakra beyond this amount, the astral form dissipates. In accordance to the chakra reserves table, this means the user is only allowed 6 A-Ranked jutsu, 12 B-Ranked jutsu, 25 C-Ranked jutsu, and 50 C-Ranked jutsu in the astral form before reaching exhaustion.

Note: Once the user has reached the ability to use S-ranked techniques, they are only allowed to use two while in astral before reaching exhaustion.

Drawbacks:

- Inability to use normal Taijutsu techniques.
- 25% more sensitive to chakra based attacks.
- Limited chakra supply, depending on rank.

But, you will need to fix it so that it fits our template.

Also, C Ranked Jutsus have a C Ranked Chakra cost, we have a system here and the Rank determines how much a Jutsu uses chakra.

And, since your character has not yet been approved, this should be palced into your application and checked with the rest of your application.

Is the technique in incorrect jutsu format, or do I need to adapt it to the martial style template? I assumed it as a jutsu, so I followed that format.

Also, would you mind providing me a link to the page that lists the system of chakra cost per technique based on rank? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

The chakra cost section has been edited to fit the chakra reserves table.

Also - I did follow the jutsu creation template. I listed name, rank, type, element, and a description of the technique. The only thing different from the normal template is that the range, chakra cost and drawbacks are separated into their own categories, but they are all still apart of the jutsu description.

I did this to make for easier reading. The template is still the same.

Well, before this gets approved, your clan first has to be approved.

When that happens, I'll give you my decision(or some other Staff member will), since I am now undecided.
