Physical Appearance:
Morel has a very light build, being slightly under his ideal body weight his skinny figure gives off the illusion he is weaker than he truely is. His complexion is healthy but has a slight white hue about it. This however, highlights his soft blue eyes which are often caught in a permanent blank-like stare that makes him seem absent minded. His hair is a light, flowing silvery grey that has a very distinct shine to it in the proper lighting conditions. Morel wears a thin chainmail vest underneath a thin brown muscle shirt with similarily coloured, but thicker shorts. He keeps his kunai pack on the right side of his waist. Thick, deep blue gauntlets are worn on both arms, both with a thin metal plate to allow hand to hand defense against light weapons such as kunai. He also has a habit of wrapping bandages around his apendages. He keeps a pack of cigarettes in his back left pocket and is rarely seen without a lit one in his mouth.
Personality:
Morel is a rather quiet boy, he doesn't often start a conversation but will keep one going once it has started. He often seems to be withdrawn and distant, and to a certain point, he is. Due to the current situation of his clan, he forces himself to keep a certain amount of distance from people. Torn between his loyalty to his clan and to his village, he subconsciously puts up barriers around himself that he lets no one cross. Never allowing anyone to become more than a friend. However, he himself, to an extent, realizes this and knows that it can cause team dynamics to fail in the most crucial moments. So he will try to hide it as best he can behind a smile and assure others that there is nothing to worry about.
Dispite this division, he is fiercely loyal to both his village and clan, and will not hesitate to give his life in the line of duty, nor in the act of taking one. Being a descendent of the third son of the founder, his role is to be the shadow of the main line. To protect and kill those who may bring harm to them. As such he has been trained from a young age to kill without remorse. And as a result, it has almost created a rift in his personality where Morel will completely detach from his humanity and become nothing more than a killing machine. This is a rare occurance but when it does happen, it can terrify those around him and is symbolized by his eyes glazing over and giving the feeling of mirrors.

Kekkei Genkai:
The Hakedoro clan possess the ability to create and manipulate smoke. Often they use a medium such as cigarettes or pipes but they are capable of creating smoke from within their bodies. When used, the smoke can be classified in two forms, tangible and intangible. Intangible smoke is essentially, as close to normal smoke as possible. It will simply freefloat and cannot cause harm but is used in supplementary jutsu. In contrast tangible smoke is smoke given both physical form and mass. This smoke is used both offensively and defensively in a variety of jutsu and can be manipulated in real time by the user. Since the smoke is made internally, members can release it from any opening in their body but prefer to exhale the smoke due to their powerful lungs aiding in the release and creation of the jutsu. The smoke is created inside their body by converting their chakra into the smoke. Often done in the lungs thus resulting in them being far stronger than normal.
History:
The Hakedoro clan has existed as long as Kumogakure has existed itself. For generations the Hakedoro were a single family, bonded together by honour and loyalty. They specialized in both infiltration and assassinations and though they were never written in the history books, were one of the founding pillars that Kumogakure was built upon. As the village began to grow and the wars subsided, the Hakedoro quickly realized that their way of life would be unable to continue much longer and thus, they stepped out of their shadows and merged into the village. Their family quickly grew into a full clan several generations later, with the main line being the only one knowing of their bloody past. As well as the only one keeping those practices alive for future generations in case the time for bloodshed were to come again. In the village, most members live outside the clan quarters, only about 30% of the clan remains in their territory. Many take up various small jobs and are unaware of their latent abilities. Others join the local police force and fight to keep the peace within their own borders. However, all living within the quarters are trained to become ninja and whether they know it or not, continue their clan's founding practices.
Currently, there are well over two hundred members but only about 45% are able to use, and are even aware of their abilities. Currently among some of the elder members, there is the fear of the clan dying out . Not by war, not by famine, but by simply being forgotten. With more and more people choosing to live within the village and not the clan quarters, the thinner the bloodline becomes and their traditions fading. Inside the clan territory, the majority of residents are over the age of sixty. Only about 26% are of genin age and are all being taught the ways of the clan. The clan is run by the current head, Hachi Hakedoro and a small committee of advisors who overlook the various affairs of the clan. With the declining rate of members in the clan able to use their kekkei genkai, the production of their items has dropped immensely. Pipes are no longer made in preference of passing them down to the younger generations when they are ready.

Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu (Body Replacement Technique)

Description:
This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise, which Sasuke has done twice in the anime. Fundamentally, all ninja know this technique.
The anime has a number of other objects being used for this jutsu, such as a boulder, mud, a scarecrow, and even a large rolled-up carpet. These items are usually nowhere in sight, suggesting that they are merely gags meant to lighten up the situation and not an actual part of the jutsu. Additionally, the normal practice of switching places with a section of log is done in several places that have no such thing anywhere nearby.

Description:
This jutsu is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily boost the user's reflexes. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance between the user and their intended destination.

Description: This technique creates intangible clones of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).

C - Covers 30m, lasts 3 posts, causes minor oxygen deprivation and heavy coughing.
B - Covers 50m, lasts 5 posts, causes more severe oxygen deprivation, heavier coughing and lightheadedness.
A - Covers 75m, lasts 7 posts, can black out if inside for five posts + previous effects.

Description: The standard form of the clan's Kekkei Genkai. The user will create and exhale thick amounts of smoke and will then give it physical form. While the smoke can be powerful and deal physical damage, they have the durability of a shadow clone and a single good strike will cause the object to dissipate. The size and duration the smoke can be and last is dependent on the user's rank.

Fire jutsu will instantly destory the wall but lightning jutsu of B rank may not penetrate as well if at all. The wall lasts for one post.

Natural Abilities: One of the Hakedoro clan's secret items. Appearing as a pack of cigarettes, these are the most common medium for Hakedoro members to use. While they are used in the same manner as a cigarette they last 1000x longer and contain no tobacco or any other substance. They instead, contain a seal unique to the clan. When one of these cigarettes are used in tandem with clan jutsu, the cost of the jutsu is reduced by 10%
Background Information
History:
Birth Arc:
Born into the second sub-branch of the Hakedoro clan, Morel's life was chosen for him long before his birth. Due to the current condition of the clan, all new members born inside the quarters are immediately taken for training one year after they learn to walk and talk. As he was still too young to begin the physical aspects of his training, from the age of three he begun to train his mind and chakra. At four, he was able to conjure forth a small puff of smoke, the first signs his bloodline was beginning to mature. At five, he was able to learn the basic forms of the clan jutsu and was now of the age to begin the physical aspects of the clan's training.
When he was not training his chakra and body, he was studying. Learning of his duty and the duty of his ancestors. As well as the current state of his clan and how important it was for him to continue their traditions. However, as it was also important that he grew to know how important it was to protect the village, he was enrolled in the academy at the age of seven.
Academy Arc:
In the academy, he found the training to be lighter than that given by his clan in terms of physical aspects. However, the study work was much greater than he was used too. But in the end he was quick to adjust and accelled in his classes, to a point. He was never top of his class but did pull a constant above average grade. He often sat at the back of the class, near the window. Since this allowed him to keep a cigarette lit without bothering too many students, but also often to his teacher's chargin. He was quiet and never asked a lot of questions. This caused most kids to think he was a bit of a freak but while he never went out to look for friends or companions, some people did talk with him and if they invited him out, he often accepted. As time went on, he found himself growing close to his friends and, dispite the years of warning from his clan, he found himself entertaining thoughts of moving from the quarters to live closer to these people. That is, until the incident happened...
As graduation grew near, the student's began having live sparring matches with one another to test their skills in real combat. It was during this time that the incident occured and as a result, even those who called themselves his friends became wary and even scared of him. During one of his spars, the teachers had gotten caught up with a heated fight between two other students. Morel was fighting against one other genin hopeful where their fight got out of hand. As no one was watching, no one really remembers what happened, not even Morel himself for at some point in the fight, something in him snapped and he blacked out. When he awoke, he found himself being restrained by his teacher with blood smeared on his face and hand, the other student cringing on the ground crying in pain and holding a bleeding wound on his side. The boy was hospitalized for three weeks and during that time, people began to pull away from him. It was at this time he had realized that his teachers were right. He should not get too involved with people outside his clan and thus, he began building artificial barriers to keep others from getting too close to him. For fear of a repeat of that event and everyone once more abandoning him.
Genin Arc:
Due to the incident, Morel was held back a year, but after that time his skills could no longer be denied and he was granted the title of genin. He was now a full fledged ninja, his life now no longer his own, not that it ever was, but the property of the village and clan to use and dispose of at their whim.
Role-Play Sample:
"Drip... drip" The consistant sound of falling water echoed through the humid darkness with the steadiness of a metronome. Atop a secluded ledge, Kazuki waited in absolute silence. Not moving his body even an inch as to avoid disturbing even the smallest pebble. The catacombs were narrow and long. Any noise could easily be carried for miles. Because of this, he even limited his breaking to one breath per three minutes.
He had been waiting in the darkness for well over six hours and the exchange time was now only minutes away. The Village had recieved word of Black Market trading occurring in the caverns around the Merchant town of Izilude. It was well known that Black Market goods were constantly coming and going through the town. However this time they had an informant as well as a location and time of one of the major trade routes. If it was to be shut down, the market in the area would fall into chaos and the Leaf could move in and close them down permanently.
The route involved navigating through the miles of underground catacombs with only a few paths leading to a secure exit. Because of the danger the caves possessed, only a brave few who entered their depths and returned know the safe routes. Unfortunately, none of these people are known by the Leaf Village. The informant knew the layout of the first two hundred meters in as he used to play there as a child. So, using his directions, Kazuki was able to locate a suitable location for hiding. If the information was correct, then a caravan should be coming through this area and meet up with another contact at the cave entrance. If all goes well, he should be able to take out the caravan and capture the contact in one fell swoop.
The minutes ticked by to the echo of the water and there was no sign of the caravan. Twenty minutes after the scheduled time, the sounds of footsteps and old wooden wheels could be heard echoing through the cavern. A glow from an oil lamp began to illuminate the darkness and the forms of three men and a large wagon began creeping along the cave floor.
Silently, Kazuki made his move. Unravelling his robe from around his sword he glides it along the ceiling, creating noose-like appendages that began to lower to the men's throats when a fourth presence alerts him to call off his attack. Leaping from his hiding place as several senbon are lodged into the rockface. Upon landing on the floor he looks over to a Hidden Rain ninja glaring at him through his shadowed face. The cart quickly evactuating the area.
"Looks like your ambush failed you pathetic Leaf". He laughs as his voice bounds off the walls creating an infinite echo that engulfed Kazuki. "What's with the silence?" He taunts as the light from the cart fades. "Stunned as to why your plan failed?" He takes a few steps forward as the cavern fades to absolute darkness. "Well..." The voice echoes before a swift breeze passes Kazuki and it returns in his ear as nothing more than a whisper "We just cut the legs off the noisy cricket". With that, the splash of a puddle and swift sound of thin objects cutting the stale air and impailing a soft object are heard. |
