| Clan Name:Kusubana Location:Scattered Signature Traits: The Kusubana are benevolent shinobi. From childhood the ideas of good and evil, right and wrong, and virtuosity and sinful are instilled upon them. It is not until they are 7 or 8 years old that they are introduced to the art of fighting. It isn’t until they are 13 years old that they are taught the proper use of their bloodline. Because of their religious affiliation, they refer to their techniques as Holy Art. Between the wing-like appendages is a curse seal similar to that of the Hyuuga’s cadet branch, which seals the bloodline from use after the death of the member Kekkei Genkai:
The Kusubana are known for two main bloodline abilities. The first is that of their physical mutation. On the back of the Kusubana, there is a pair of wing-like projections. These are covered in a special hair that appears as feathers and conducts Raiton chakra extremely well. By channeling Raiton chakra to the unmoving appendages, the member builds up a strong charge that can be used for multiple Raiton-based jutsu. By holding the charge through these appendages and discharging raiton into the ground beneath them, the user can be repelled into the air, simulating flight in a similar manner to water-walking. Small wing-like projections on the ankles and forearms provide for the ability to move forward or backward while airborne. The radius in which they can “fly” is limited by the radius of the discharged Raiton in the ground. The second ability is that of the Flash Release. Much in the same manner that Nara manipulate existing shadows, Kusubana can manipulate flashes of light. This ability is more clan-based than Kekkei Genkai-based. It utilizes the latent chakra elements of Katon and Raiton together to form what is considered Flash Release, referred within the Kusubana as Holy Art. Using Flash Release, the Kusubana can produce mass flashes of intense light that have both a blinding element and an intense heat (due to Katon element). When Flash Release is channeled through the special crystals that are produced by the clan, the crystals “charge” and release the Flash Release as an intense beam of light with a cutting power like that of Fuuton. It is almost like solid light. However, the true nature of the beam is similar to that of a white-hot blade, cutting through most things like butter. It is important to note that Kusubana have an usually high content of iron and sodium in their blood, allowing for such a strong affinity to Raiton chakra.
Rank 1: At this rank the Kusubana have no ability to access the powers sealed within them. Instead, the Kusubana member can only manipulate Flash Release to the point where they can release small, short, and blinding flashes of light. Their training with the clan’s crystals are limited to being able to charge a few at a time (10 max if used as projectiles). The crystals, when unbound by an object such as a pole or clothing, can be charged and thrown, forming kunai, senbon, or shuriken forms. At this stage the user is able to make a projection from an embedded crystal in a pole to be a beam 2feet in length and are limited in width by the diameter of the gem (approximately 2 inches). Their ability to use the repelling flight-like capabilities is limited to a 10yard height from the ground and 25yard discharge radius.
Training: Default
Rank 2: At this rank, the Kusubana will have trained further with their use of the crystals. By this point, they are able to control the shape of the projected beams to the point that they can be formed into shields and discuses with a maximum radius of 2feet. The projected beams can reach 4feet in length and have a width of 4inches. The Flash Release capabilities include semi-hot blinding flashes that last for the duration of one post (for those affected). The Kusubana can use the repelling capabilities to a height of 30yards and a discharge radius of 50yards. Kusubana at Rank 2 can also charge several crystals at any given time (20 projectiles at a time).
Training: 300 word training post(s) with either a leader of the clan or while undergoing the ritual designated by the Ancient Scriptures (found at the shrine of each clan’s quarters in each village…many copies exist within the clan so that the methods could never be lost). This training includes a grueling surgical process that will implant two crystals into the palms of the Kusubana. This requires a medical nin to be present at the time of training.
Rank 3: The third rank of the Kusubana bloodline not only strengthens the member’s abilities, but unlocks a special genjutsu capability. The user emits light using Flash Release accompanied with several implanted calibrated gems that are on the body. The calibrated gems allow, instead of intensifying the Flash Release, for the user to manipulate the wavelengths of the light emitted, affecting the user’s visual perception as opposed to the mental perception that is affected by typical genjutsu (the typical genjutsu involves changing what the target(s)’ mind(s) translate from their vision, but this genjutsu alters the light in a way that the photoreceptors of the eyes perceive the vision differently than it actually is. Just another method of causing an illusion). This could be used in several different manners. For example, by constantly changing the color of the environment (being perceived), the target could get disoriented in the same way the stereotypical acid trip would cause major disorientation. That is only one possibility. In addition, the radius of any shield generated using the crystals is now 4feet. The gems can be charged and placed in strategic locations and then released remotely. However the type of charge (shield, beam, or any other possibly form) must be designated as they are charging them. These, including projectiles, can number a maximum of 30. A single beam can be 6feet in length and have a width of 6inches (as it reaches 5+ feet, the end becomes less stable). The user can use the repelling technique to be propelled in the air 50yards and can have a discharge radius of 100yards. The duration of a hot blinding flash can blind an opponent for 2posts (blindness for 2posts, hotness for 1post).
Training: 500 word training post(s) with either a leader of the clan or ancient scriptures. This involves training, until you have nearly drained yourself of all chakra (not to the point of death). During this training process the member must create a ritual circle containing the clan insignia. While maintaining the charge on the gems, a second shinobi, preferably medical nin, will implant 22 of the calibrated gems into the body. If the user does not die from chakra use, the body will react positively to the gems, instinctly knowing which gem corresponds to what type of wavelength. 2 of the gems go on each forearm (total of 4), 2 go on each upper arm (total of 8 ), 2 on each calf/shin (total 12), 1 on each foot (total 14), 1 on each thigh (total 16), 5 on the chest and stomach area (3 along the breastbone-middle of the chest; 2 along the center of the stomach-one above the naval and one below it; total 21), and on small diamond-shaped one in the center of the forehead (total 22). All of the calibrated gems have a diameter of approximately ¾ of an inch, except for the one on the forehead.
Rank 4: This rank is the final rank of the Kusubana bloodline. The last level of this bloodline allows for the user to generate bullet-like beams that will still exist even after being disconnected from the gem that generated them. However, only one can be “shot” at a time. In addition, multiple gems can be combined together to fire one giant beam of Flash release. It is important to note that this type of technique requires extreme focus and a good amount of chakra due to the lethality potential. In addition, the radius of a shield generated can reach a maximum of 6feet. There can be a maximum of 40 separated and charged gems. Beam length can reach up to 7feet long and 8inches in width. The repelling technique can work to a height of 100yards and a radius of 150yards. The duration of an extremely hot blinding flash can last 2posts (the blinding part lasts 2posts, the superheat for 1post).
Training: At least a 1000word training post(s) with either a leader of the clan or the ancient scriptures. The user undergoes a similar procedure to the training required for Rank 3. However, instead of having calibrated gems placed, small versions of the normal gems (diameter 0.5inches) are placed above and below each of the calibrated gems, the exception being the forehead gem. Furthermore, the user must then illuminate their entire body for the duration of 5minutes.

History:
History states that they arose from a distant country from the Shinobi Continent, called the Land of Light. It is unsure who their leader was at the time, but it was known that he had deemed the Shinobi world as impure and corrupt. It wasn’t long before the Kusubana settled a clan in each of the Shinobi lands with the intent of dividing and conquering. Since then, their numbers have not been many, but the clan has been strong and ever-present. For a long time, the Kusubana were only known for their unique body mutations and wide use of Raiton chakra that was coupled with Katon. One brilliant member, Hikari Kusubana, who was interested in the sciences, developed a unique crystal that could harness and redirect a simultaneous combination of Katon and Raiton to form Flash release into a strong beam of light. The combination of the two elements with this gem could produce an intense beam of light that could cut through most solids like Fuuton. The crystals are proven to be useless to those without Flash Release, and thus useless to non-Kusubana. Rumors state that the Hoshi Clan and Kusubana Clan are related due to similar elemental combinations to form different releases.

Name: Holy Art: Zeus’ Bolt Rank:C Type:Ninjutsu/Kenjutsu Range:Average projectile range (approx 50m) Element:Flash Description:The user takes a single clan gem and holds it in their hand. The user then focuses flash release through it and forms blade-like projection (starting at 2ft in length each for Rank 2 and above) out of both ends. However, due to the nature of the gems and the refractions caused by focusing the blade of light and essentially splitting it, the double blade appears jagged, like a lightning bolt. The user can then throw this at their opponent as a kunai, but would have the penetrating depth of a dagger. Upon contact with another object, the Flash Release breaks down to non-physical form and releases a blinding flash within a spherical radius of 20m. Chakra Cost:5
Name:Holy Art: Rain of 1000 Blades Rank:B Type:Ninjutsu/Kenjutsu Range:100m Element:Flash Description:The user propels several hundreds of clan gems into the air (could be done much like the umbrella filled with senbon needles. The point is the user has to get the gems up in the air and rain down on the field). Several of these gems will be charged to form tiny blades/needles that fall to earth. Due to the proximity of the gems to one another, it will appear as though there are thousands of these blades raining down, when in reality it is whatever the maximum number of gems charged are. Drawbacks: This jutsu requires that the user be able to charge as many gems as possible in order to have the most probability of hitting their target, or at least tricking them in to believing they will be hit. Name:Holy Art: Flash Clone Rank:B Type:Ninjutsu Range:(Of flash= 20m) Element:Flash Description:This is done much like every other elemental-affinity clone jutsu. The user creates a clone of Flash elemental. The clone, when destroyed, releases a blinding flash within a 20m radius. Drawbacks: The user’s chakra is split between themselves and the clones, thus each clone created divides the chakra further. The user runs the potential of getting blinded if they are within 10m of the location of contact. From 15-20m away, the flash merely disorientates their vision (like the type of feeling/seeing when you're light-headed and dizzy. You can still see, but everything seems out-of-whack). From further than that, the flash would be like a camera flash. Chakra Cost:10
Name: Holy Art: Athena’s Prayer Rank:A Type:Ninjutsu Range:200m Element:Flash Description:The user typically uses the palm gems for this ability, but it can be used with any clan gem. The user charges the gem for at least 15seconds or the duration of 200 words. The more devout members will appear to be praying as they charge the gem (it is quicker to charge the gem with 2 hands than 1). The user then aims the charged gem so that it lines up with the target and releases a strong, fast beam at the target, discharging the gem completely. This beam has the penetrating capabilities of a bullet, but has the properties of a Flash Release beam (see Kusubana clan for details). Chakra Cost:20
Name:Holy Art: Shooting Star Rank:A Type:Offensive Range:(Depends on “flight” capabilities of the Kusubana member) Element:Flash Description:The user rises as high into the air as possible (limited by the heights defined by Kusubana Clan). The user then focuses Flash Release to their fist and thrusts it forward as they dive-bomb to their target, giving off an immense amount of light that encompasses, but does not blind, the user (creating the shooting-star effect). This light, being faster than the user, also will blind the opponent as the user gets closer. The immense acceleration of the user (which can be increased by creating a larger attraction between their “wings” and the ground) will increase the force of the punch. Furthermore, if the user is agile and focused, at the last few moments before impact, they can approach the opponent open-fisted and emit a Flash Release blade from their palm gem, making them like a giant arrow. The duration should be in posts, to which I would suggest 2 posts.
It seems like water would be your natural enemy, since it would provide a near infinite number of refractions against your light attacks, and because of this, I would think that water would be much stronger than your flash techniques.
For Shooting star, I think that A rank would be much more appropriate. Also as a human, you could only travel so fast since you would die if you reached terminal velocity |

| edited and the 200 hundred i put in to challenge myself if i want to use a jutsu i better get two hundred out of my ass |

| I would have to agree with Olivier, this isn't enough of a physical mutation to change the basis of the clan...Definitely not the same as the Kurayami Clan

| I concur with Pats Assessment on this one Adam. I think we need to show a bit a leverage. At worst this clan hints at and little more then that, when don't want replicas but likewise we dont want to crash down on clearly diff clans and I think this one fits in the latter camp. |
