| The red, spikey hair bounced up and down, as a smile glistened off the face of a young man. His smile was genuine as he waved to the citizens of Konohagakure. All he could possibly think was, Man, these people are great, so kind and helpful. The purple eyes emerged from behind the smile, staring into a mirror as hands raised to move through the spikey red hair. "Ugh, I have trouble keeping this hair short.", the boy muttered as he smiled once more.
This young Uzumaki, his parents were deceased, the reason unknown to him. The swirl pattern he bore was proof enough that he was a clansmen to the Uzumaki, who were feared and known for their Fuuinjutsu. The boy couldn't help but smile, it was natural for him. He did have knowledge in Fuuinjutsu and his clan's unique chakra, but he was always skeptical about the chains he could make using that chakra.
He found himself staring into the Memorial Stone. Curious thoughts rolled through his brain, followed on by thunderous comments. Plenty of good men and women recieved their name carved into this stone, but only because they died for the village. But yet there was always people willing to die. Kazou knew Konoha would stand strong, but it would always need a strong foundation, willing to do whatever they must do to protect Konoha. |

| Long hair, black eyes, white skin, Konoha headband. These are all things that Midara obtains. His noticeably long black hair that draped to his tailbone, his dark eyes that match the sky of night. His white skin, as common as any other and his Konoha Headband. One thing that makes him different that many other people in this village. Midara highs his headband high and with proud, people can tell by the why it shines in the sunlight. He is proud to be able to call Konoha his home, he often goes to the memorial stone to thank the spirits that once lived. He thanks them for serving them in battle. One day Midara's name will be on there, and he won't want anyone to cry. Simply, because he died happy. Embrace in the happiness of the air.
Midara walking towards the memorial stone, saw another person there. A boy with crimson hair that points to the skies. The boy also wore a jacket. From the angle Midara was standing at, he saw a black wrap around the boys head. He seemed a little short, but he could be a shinobi. After all, only true shinobi come here. No one else realizes how much effort shinobi's have to put, have to give up. They give up more than their freedom, but also their lives. They aren't scared, you can't be scared to fight in a world like this.
The young Uchiha finally met up with the boy at the memorial stone. He was on the right side of him, and looked forward at the statue. Out of the corner of his eyes. he saw a Uzamaki symbol on the boys forearm. He kept looking straight. "You know, these shinobis all died for a reason. We must protect that reason," Midara took a wild guess. "As a single genin, we can't do much. But when we bond together, we are as strong as anyone. We do what needs to be done, no questions asked." Said as he looked straight and put his hand on the memorial stone, his whole right palm. Being here always sent a jolt of emotion to Midara. It might just be a shinobi thing. |

| Kazou grunted as the other boy approched him. It was obvious to Kazou that after this guy stated he was a genin, there was absolutely no doubt in his mind. Kazou would let the boy step up and preach. Only it wasn't as long as Kazou expected. Kazou looked over towards him, taking in the features of the comrade next to him. Kazou drew himself a blank, bored expression bleached with sarcasm as the boy finished. Now it would be Kazou's turn.
He straightened up and pointed a finger right towards his comrade. Then his mouth opened up. "Sure they died for a reason, but they're honoured here because of it. People may not remember everything they did, but they would remember the thing they died doing!", he exclaimed out. "Don't preach to my about teaming up, I know nothing about you, you couldn't even properly introduce yourself before launching into a small preacher about the names on the stone!", he said, lowering his hand.
"And there's always a choice. I chose not to introduce myself until I yelled at you.", Kazou said, pointing at the Uzumaki symbol he bore. "I'm Uzumaki, Kazou, and don't you forget that!", Kazou said, holding up his fist for a fist bump. He eyed the boy with his purple eyes, intently waiting for him to introduce himself and fist bump. If this guy doesn't do it, it'll tick me right off, Kazou thought. |

| Midara noticed a jump in the boys actions. He didn't react the same way as most people. Midara liked this about this guy. It made him stronger than the rest, of course Midara feels the same way as the other genin. Although, "You don't need to know each other to serve. I don't know you and we serve the same village". Midara quickly said as the boy lowered his hand, then the boy started to talk again. The boy seemed very hyper, it made Midara laugh at himself a bit. A fist came up then stopped half way right after the boy introduced himself.
"Sorry, about not introducing myself.". Midara slightly turned his back to the boy, not in disrespect. He brought his right arm over his right shoulder and pointed with his thumb to his back which was slightly facing the boy. "Uchiha..." Midara said as he pointed to the symbol on the back of his shirt. These two boys already had a lot in common. They were both very proud, seems like both would be happy to have their name of the stone. "Midara" said as he turned around and then quickly bumping the fist of the other genin. "Don't worry bro, I won't leave you hanging" Midara said as he smiled down to the ground then up to the sky. The shining bright sun caused Midara to look away back to the ground.
Midara then looked up to the boy, he noticed the boys lively eyes. A bright shining purple, something uncommon in the lives of a villager. Also, his red hair, this boy wasn't one of the common. Midara wanted his assistance, he doesn't know this boy very well personally, But he already knows so much about him. "Hey Kazou, what do you think of us working together? On like missions and stuff? He said looking at Kazou. Hopefully this could build up to something important. |

| He eyed his fist intently before the genin turned around. Kazou knew the symbol. Uchiha, he thought as his comrade said the name. Aren't Uchiha supposed to be elite or something, Kazou asked himself, blinking as Midara, annouced his name, turned around and finished the fist bump. Kazou smiled brightly, letting his arm and hand drop to his side. He watched Midara, assuming that he must not be used to the sun.
And then the all important question. Kazou could only close his eyes, and make a snorting sound. He kept his eyes closed as if he was in some sort of deep thought. But he wasn't. He just wanted to fool around with Midara. To see how far he could take Midara, until Midara found the deep end of a situation like this where Kazou just kept his eyes closed. He planned on doing this for a long time.
Okay, it's been about ten minutes, Kazou thought as he opened his eyes, purple eyes glistened from the sun's rays as he smiled. "Sure! I can see that happening Midara, it sounds totally cool and awesome to do missions with other people, because everyone grows and learns from it!", he finished, fist raised in the air with a complete smile on his face. Kazou was always going to be like this. |

| The was shining more brightly than normal, at least to Midara. Midara asked a question and the boy closing his eyes. It was kind of awkward that the boy would be day dreaming while right in front of Midara. 'Maybe he is meditating? Maybe all Uzamaki's do this?' Midara thought to himself as the boy just stand at where he was at with his eyes deeply shut. He must give a lot of trust to Midara if he is going to keep his eyes closed in front of him for a while. Midara could just slash his neck, no one would know. He wouldn't have time to do that. Midara could also have left and walked away, 'Is this some sort of joke?' Midara later thought. He then started to look up the name of fallen shinobi. Wondering who they were, even if names, it left an empty image.
The boy suddenly awoke out of no where, it shocked Midara. Only a little bit. Midara was kind of confused about the energy coming from the kid. "What was that all about?" Midara question the boy putting up a finger, almost scolding the boy. Midara was sort of annoyed at this point, but he was to remain calm. As he always did.
"You know, I have a team of genin. A team of multiple genin that work together. To work together for the greater good of Konoha. We can do more as a team. We are willing to do whatever it takes to make Konoha smile. You can be apart of it. Will you?" Midara then put his hands up in a motion of 'showing something' towards the stone. "Don't you want the spirits of the dead to remain happy?" |

| Kazou planned to be quiet again. One could only imagine, never assume, what he was thinking. Whether he was off in his own little world, or in reality, he only cared to be happy himself. This Uchiha spoke as if he was better, almost annoying Kazou to the brink of punching him flat in the face. He spoke of teamwork and strength through unison. How lame, I thought genin grouped into three decided by the Hokage, to learn under a Jounin level sensei, Kazou thought.
"Now listen here Midara, sure working for the greater good is important, but friends and family are always top priority! You can't always be willing to do what it takes, as it can cause much more pain than anyone expected!", Kazou said, his counter-statement to Midara's request of joining. "Do you think they died happy? Knowning that they were leaving their beloved ones behind? Do you truely believe they died happily because they died for Konohagakure?", Kazou stated firmly, fiery excitement blaized from within his purple eyes.
Kazou then took a deep breath. "My answer is a firm no, I won't get stronger by joining up with you and the other genin. There's a reason why genin are grouped in three and trained under a jounin level sensei. It's to make us stronger and bond three ninja together. It's an important process I'd like to do, not be in a group of multiple genin!", he finished his statement, awaiting further comments from Midara. |

| Midara patiently waited and listened to the young Uzamaki. It was only fair that both sides that their time to talk. After it seemed like Kazou was done, it was to be Midaras turn. Then the young genin took a deep breath and rejected Midara's offer. Midara wasn't mad right now, but he wanted to get to the first point, the point about dying for their village.
"Boy oh boy, aren't you a silly one?...Konoha is the beloved one. Yes, they might be leaving us but they are going to a better place. So we should be happy for them. They are reuniting with the dead. All the other names of this stone memorial. They must have died happy, being able to leave this cruel world to go to a much better place. Knowing they did all they could for something they loved. I would die happy for my village, seems like that something that separates us." Midara finished off his sentence looking down at his fingernails, which only showed how he felt about that whole thing. It wasn't like Midara didn't care, it just seemed sort of pointless to go through this talk with a genin. A genin should already know this, he should have been told as a young boy. Someone failed to raise him as a child. Midara didn't always have someone to babysit him, so he would have to do this own things by himself. He won't wait around for anyone to help, unlike this boy.
Midara then put his hands of his waist. He wasn't scared of his boy, nor was he mad so a physical contest was not appropriate. Anywho, Midara also had a reputation to maintain, fighting this genin would simply just make the Gurentai look bad, now he didn't want that. Midara then chuckled to remember the fact that the young boy rejected his offer. "So your just going to sit around and wait for a Jonin to babysit you? Our brothership has one of the biggest bonds in the whole Leaf Village. We are willing to die for each other." Midara said as this pond of black death eyes looked towards the purple fire. It was like a clash of a black liquid and a bright purple fire. ...Who would win? |

| Kazou was sent off the deep end. "Really, you think Konoha is the only important thing? What seperates us? Is that I'm not willing to throw away lives for the shake of the village! People may have been grateful, but there's always someone who suffers from it.", Kazou said. "This world is only as cruel as you allow it to treat you. Friends and family keep you in a bright mood where not even someone like you can ruin my good mood!", he said.
"No, I'm not going to wait for a sensei, I'll work hard and attain strength in my own way! I'll be happy with family and friends guiding my heart with a beacon of light. And you know why?", Kazou asked Midara. "Because every person I care for, acts as a a sun inside me, empowering me to do what I must for them.", he said.
"Even if someone grew up not knowing who their parents were, they still have friends they can fall back on when they need help. Friends are friends. If your willing to do anything to make Konoha smile, you can exclude me, because I'll do it in my own way!", Kazou said stubbornly. "Now, if you have anything else to say, spit it out." |

| This really puzzled Midara, why wouldn't Kazou want to make Konoha shine bright? Why wouldn't he want to help Konoha. "You know that, its not like I send out genin on suicide missions. They go on what they can take, and they gradually get stronger. All of my genin are even stronger. For attaining strength and power, you simply can come with me. You'll become powerful. Just because we have the rank of genin doesn't mean we have nothing to teach. Every single one of my genins are friends. We are all friends who will die for each other. Not because of Konoha, but because our bond."
"It is your loss if you don't want to train with us. I can respect it though, you have your viewpoints and I have mine. " Midara stuck his fist out for another fist bump. Hopefully there was no major disrespect between the two. Midara was going to leave, whether or not Kazou bumped him. "Maybe we can see each other someday?" Midara said with a smile looking towards the purple eyes. "I hope you live long" |

| Ya ya ya, just finish talki Midara, Kazou thought. He had hoped Midara had nothing else to say and would leave, but that hadn't happened. Instead, he decided to open his mouth and babble on. Strength and power, bah. Kazou knew that true strength came from friendship. He had already tried to make it clear to Midara.
Sure, you and your friends can die, I plan on becoming what I can become, he thought as he blinked. My loss, you should watch it buddy, Kazou thought as Midara stuck his fist out. Kazou would be in a happy mood now.
"Yo, yo, sure, we can see each other again some day!", he said, fist bumping with Midara again. "And when we do, we greet like this, understand.", Kazou said. "And I will live long, because I'm a Uzumaki, and my clan has an incredible stamina and longevity!", Kazou said.
He turned around, waving a hand to Midara. "Cya 'round Midara, I hope you find peace, even if you were to die tomorrow.", Kazou said.

| Midara was happy that no disrespect was shown but they both had to end up leaving. Midara set his hand down to his side after a fist bumped his. Midara nodded in an agreement of Kazou's request. Kazou seemed young and energetic which wasn't a bad thing, just sort of immature. It didn't bother Midara to much, actually gave him a smile to see the brightness of his comrades. He seemed very proud of his clan and everything good would because of it. As the boy turned around and walked away, he said something that confused Midara.
'....even if you were to die tomorrow?' Midara asked himself as he brought up his right arm and scratched the back of his head while his left hand was set on his hips. Midara thought their was something wrong with this kid. What was that supposed to mean? Midara just watched the boy walk away. He didn't seem weak, but he didn't seem to be a problem to Midara or to Gurentai. This wasn't a waste of time, Midara spread out the word of nationalism, which had a reaction. Some genin just don't understand. thought to himself as he shook his head and turned around, walking towards to his calling...death.
