Clan Name: Shi-Rudo 盾 (Shield)
Location: No Specific location
Signature Traits: Weapon Masters: The Shi-Rudo are often called the greatest blacksmith’s in the world, renowned throughout the world for their skill with metals. Shi-Rudo are taught about metals from a young age and are trained to become great blacksmiths just like their forefathers. Shi-Rudo who become ninja are often, if not always, Weaponry specialists
Bearers of Weight : Since they cannot create metal on the spot, Shi-Rudo usually carry large loads of metallic items on their person when going to battle to ensure they have a ready supply of metal available. With the amount of metal they carry, it is understandable that Shi-Rudo are much slower than ordinary ninja (ranging from 5-50%). However, thanks to the greater amount of pressure their bodies have to withstand, they are extremely powerful and well-built, possessing greater strength than their peers (ranging from 10-50%).
Bones of Steel: At a young age, every Shi-Rudo has his bones infused with metal to strengthen them and allow them to withstand larger forces. This is done particularly to help the Shi-Rudo as they carry heavy loads of metal with them almost everywhere they go, which would normally damage an ordinary person’s bones. Their metal bones are obviously much stronger than regular human bones, being able to undertake larger forces without damage. However, this also means that they weigh more than regular humans and as such exert a much greater force on the ground. The bones' strength is 50% that of steel, and remains constant even if they rank up, since it has nothing to do with their skill or chakra levels.
Name: Toko No Jato Rank: B Type: Shield Appearance: Varies from each member. Though the shape is the same, each clansmen are encouraged to design their own sheild once they have earned it. The size of this shield its self is immense. The weilder can crouch down behind the shield if need be. The shield diamerter is 2 ft 3 inchs. Weighs in at 20 lbs. Made from Titanium and Ninjitsu. Storage: Back or Carried Special Abilities: The Shi-Rudo clan is known for its battle style and use of the shield on the battle field. These Shields were designed for combating Ninjitsu useres. The shield its self can repelle Ninjutsu. Example: Should a shinobi launch a fireball based jutsu. The user would use this shield to block the attack. the chakra aspect of the attacks come to a halt and will either go around the user or be pushed back. FLAW: The shield has zero defensive capabilities against Genjutsu.
Kekkei Genkai: -Ninjutsu repelling Shield. -Metal Eyes The Shi-Rudo clan’s Kekkei Genkai is the ability to manipulate metals as if they were an extension of their body. All Kaihaku are born with a special Doujutsu dubbed the “Kinzokugan” or “Metal Eyes”. This Doujutsu is permanently active at all times with the result that it drains very little chakra from the user. The Kinzokugan has no unique physical features as compared to a regular eye, perhaps being a tad bit more reflective than an ordinary eye. Even if this is true, one would still be unable to distinguish between a regular eye and a Kinzokugan. It was once believed that the Shi-Rudo’s eyes were actually made of metal, but it was soon found to be nothing but a rumor.
Using their Doujutsu, the clan members can project their chakra into a nearby metal and manipulate it to perform a variety of actions. This enables the Shi-Rudo to use metals in a unique way, being able to change its shape, its state, even its hardness or color by manipulating the metal’s structure on a molecular basis. Theoretically, they can do anything they wish with the metal. To control the metal, clan member may simply use their mind to manipulate it; however higher-ranked techniques require the usage of hand gestures reminiscent to Gaara’s style. Whether the metal is under magnetic influences or not does not hinder the clan’s ability to control it; however, if the metal already possesses another person’s chakra within it (be it a fellow clan member or not) then it cannot be manipulated.
The major flaw in their Kekkei Genkai is that the Shi-Rudo are unable to create new metal using their chakra, since all they can do is manipulate the metal. Therefore, they can only use metal which is already available around them, and only manipulate it so long as it is within their range. Fortunately, any metal used can be “recycled” and used again for other techniques so long as it is not destroyed. Since they cannot create new metals, Kaihaku usually carry a large stock of metallic items with them to battle, which they then proceed to manipulate using their Kinzokugan.
Since the Shi-Rudo only manipulate the metal and do not create it, it is not regarded as an advanced element, which explains why Shi-Rudo can still possess two basic elemental affinities like regular ninja. Metals with the Shi-Rudo clan’s chakra within them have shown a weakness to the Suiton element, with the two combined chakra resulting in an acceleration of the metal’s rusting process. Raiton and Katon techniques tend to conduct through the metals controlled by the Shi-Rudo, often having no effect.
History:
The Shi-Rudo clan was once one of the most powerful and renowned clans in the Iron Country, known for its ability to manipulate metal in unique ways. They lived in the Iron Country for a great many years, crafting and forging items and weapons for their country. During wartimes they were a great asset as they could make weapons far faster than a regular blacksmith and with greater skill. The clan itself was raised around serving their village and country by building their weapons. While they did not have any true love for their homeland as many other clans, it nevertheless had a higher priority than the other countries.
Considering that they were such skilled blacksmiths, the Shi-Rudo clan was often bombarded by requests from both their own countrymen and other countrymen for weapons and items. Usually any request the clan received was fulfilled, so long as it was not an illegal affair. Of course, there were those who built anything, whether legal or not, for the sake of money. The clan soon realized that the others were taking them for granted and using their skills for their advantage, as was particularly obvious when two areas were battling against each other. So, the Shi-Rudo packed up in the middle of one night and left their homes, leaving nothing behind but their empty houses.
The clan then went into incognito and remained hidden from the public eye. They wished to test how the world would react to their disappearance, to see whether they would realize how valuable they had been to them. As expected, there was initially a storm of panic when the Shi-Rudo were discovered to have vanished. The Iron Country’s Feudal Lord had a search team sent out to locate them, but the clan had covered its tracks well. Eventually, the panic that had occurred at the Shi-Rudo clan’s disappearance subsided, and soon people were going about their daily lives, having adapted to the change of situation quickly.
Many years passed, and the Shi-Rudo clan continued to keep its abilities and prowess hidden, until the memory of these attributes had faded from others minds. Unfortunately, a life of seclusion had led the clan’s number to decrease, until only a handful of Shi-Rudo remained. Living as social outcasts had become a way of life for them by now, a tradition that had to be honored, so it was difficult for the clan members to come out of hiding. But they had no choice, and appeared once more in the world. They still kept their abilities a secret in case they should be taken advantage of again. Since the vast majority did not know about the clan (nor had they even heard of it), it was easy enough to do.
Having lived for so long separated from others, the few surviving Shi-Rudo did not settle down in one particular area, no longer wishing to serve just one nation, but rather anyone who came for their skills. Therefore, the Shi-Rudo clan simply wanders the lands as nomads without any destination.
Clan Jutsu:
Name: Shield Throw Rank: D Type: Ninjutsu Range: 100 yards Element: N/A Description: Simple Jutsu. The Shi-Rudo clan member will take his 20lb shield and simply throw it at a target. With the use of chakra hte distance the shield can go increases to 100 yards (Football Feild The damge is also slightly increased. Once the Shield hits its target the remaining chakra will pull the shield back to the user. Chakra Cost: 3
Name: Forge Rank: C Type: Weaponry Element: N/A Chakra Cost: Description: Yet another clan favorite, this is a move where the Shi-Rudo uses his Kinzokugan to shape metal into different kinds of weapons and items, this move is one of the reasons why Shi-Rudo are called “The Greatest Blacksmiths”. It allows them to speed up the process of forging metal to create practically anything they wish out of metal, whether it is a chair or a knife, or even a metal apple.
Only objects of the same rank as the clan member may be created, and only those in which the clan member specializes (e.g. a Shi-Rudo who uses swords and pole arms can only create those two weapons). Basic ninja tools such as kunai or shuriken can of course be created regardless of specialty.
This move requires the clan member to keep his concentration throughout the molding. If his concentration is broken the technique will not work. The jutsu requires at least half a post of concentration to work.
Name: Metal Mastery Rank: N/A Type: Doujutsu Element: N/A Description: A simple technique that allows a Shi-Rudo to manipulate metal in any way they wish using their Doujutsu, the Kinzokugan. The clan member can project their chakra into the metal to control it, so long as it is within their area of manipulation. An important note is that metals which already possess chakra within them cannot be manipulated. Based on the rank of the clan member, their range of manipulation differs.
- C-Rank: Circular radius of 10 meters. - B-Rank: Circular radius of 20 meters. - A-Rank: Circular radius of 30 meters. - S-Rank: Circular radius of 50 meters.
So, if a clan member wishes to make a kunai float through the air, he will only be able to do so within his range. This Doujutsu is active at all times and by itself does not utilize any noticeable amount of chakra to stay active. It only acts as a baseline for the clan member's manipulation. Unless the clan member is using the eyes for a jutsu, it does not cost them any chakra.
Name: Blacksmith’s Touch Rank: D Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Description: A move where the Shi-Rudo will use an outside source of metal to repair any damages to metallic structures and items. The clan member must be touching the object to be repaired and will then use his Metal Eyes to manipulate any metal within a 15ft radius to fix the said damages. So long as there is plenty of metal available, the damages themselves do not take long to fix, often repairing themselves in less than one post. An alternate solution is to have the item’s metal shift and cover up the damages, though this is not usually done since the item will be in no better condition.
Name: Metal Levitation Rank: D-S Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Description: One of the most commonly-used and basic techniques of the Kaihaku clan, this technique allows the clan member to lift metallic objects into the air, move them around, even stop or repel incoming metals heading towards them. Hand gestures are a necessity for the use of this technique as they are used to direct the chakra flowing from the Shi-Rudo’s Kinzokugan to the metal. The clan member is able to lift any metallic substances within his range of manipulation using this technique. Of course, the mass of the metallic objects must be taken into consideration. The maximum mass of the object (or the total mass) that can be levitated is dependent on the amount of chakra the clan member is expending.
- D-Rank Chakra: A maximum mass of 100 kg can be levitated. - C-Rank Chakra: A maximum mass of 250 kg can be levitated. - B-Rank Chakra: A maximum mass of 500 kg can be levitated. - A-Rank Chakra: A maximum mass of 1000 kg can be levitated. - S-Rank Chakra: A maximum mass of 2000 kg can be levitated.
For every two posts that the object is kept in the air, it requires a chakra cost equivalent to one rank below the used rank (e.g. if a 300 kg mass was lifted into the air, every two posts the Shi-Rudo would use up a C-Rank amount of chakra to keep it in the air). The objects can only be kept in the air so long as it is within the clan member's range of manipulation, of course.
Name: Metal Needle Barrage Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Description: The Shi-Rudo will slam his hand onto any metallic structure and will send a pulse of chakra into it, causing a 4 ft tall wall of metal to rise up out of the structure with a thickness of 3ft. The Shi-Rudo will then place his hand on the wall and will once more send another pulse of chakra into the wall. This will cause the wall to break up and launch a barrage of tiny metal needles at the target at a high speed. While these needles shall travel in a straight line, their speed shall make it difficult to dodge them at close range. Also, the speed at which they are flying will allow them to slice through C-rank defenses.
Name: Metal Flight Disk Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Description: This is a clan favorite and is used by many Shi-Rudo. A Shi-Rudo shall use his ability to manipulate metal to form a six inch thick disk of metal with a five foot radius out of a source of metal. The Shi-Rudo can step onto the disk and use his Kinzokugan to levitate the disk into the air. The disk shall be strong enough to hold the Kaihaku’s weight and lift him into the air. Once the disk has been molded, it shall not require any chakra to maintain, with the clan member only having to sacrifice a D-Rank’s worth of chakra each post he is in the air. The disk can also move through the air with the clan member atop it, and at roughly at a speed of 40 mph. The disk shall last for as long as the clan member can keep maintaining the “flight cost”.
Name: Metallic Skin Rank: C-A Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Chakra Cost: Description: After forming a series of handseals, a Shi-Rudp will send chakra into any metallic structure through physical contact. This will cause the metal to travel up their body like liquid from the point of contact to cover their entire body in less than a second. Once covered, the metal layer will appear to have retained its liquid-like form and will be constantly shifting over their body. When an attack is about to land on a Kaihaku’s Metallic Skin, the liquid metal will harden in the place where the attack is about to hit and will protect the Shi-Rudo from the damage of the attack.
Any physical attack of the same rank and below will have no effect on the Metallic Skin. Projectile attacks will glance off the Metallic Skin upon contact. All elemental attacks of the same rank and below (aside from fire attacks) will have no effect on the Metallic Skin. Suiton attacks of the same rank and above can break through the Metallic Skin by causing it to rust and fall away. Raiton and Katon attacks of one rank above can be protected against, but only 1 of said attacks can be taken before the Metallic Skin is destroyed.
If it is not destroyed, the Metallic Skin will last for a total of 3 posts before falling off the Shi-Rudo like liquid.
Name: Metal Wall Rank: C-S Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Chakra Cost: Description: A Shi-Rudo will spread his feet apart and slam his hands together, which shall cause a large forward-curving wall of metal to rise up from any metal surface or, alternately, cause small metallic objects to fly towards him and group together to create a large metal wall. This wall shall be 8ft tall, 4ft across, and six inches thick.
As it is made of metal the Metal Wall will provide protection from physical attacks of its rank and below (e.g. Taijutsu, Weaponry, etc.). Projectile attacks will glance off the Metal Wall due to it being made of strong metal unless they are strong enough to break through metal. Elemental attacks of the same rank will be cancelled out by the Metal Wall. Raiton attacks of the same rank and below will be conducted into the earth by the Metal Wall, as shall Katon attacks. Suiton-based attacks of the same rank and above will cause the wall to rust and break apart.
If it is not destroyed, the Metal Wall will last for a maximum of 3 posts (though it can be dispersed before then), after which it will melt back into whatever substance it was originating from or split into the component objects it was made from.
Name: Metal Octopus Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Chakra Cost: Description: Another clan favorite, a Shi-Rudo will wave his hands above his head, causing all metal objects within his range to come flying towards him. The objects shall cluster and fuse together to form a large, shiny metal sphere fifteen feet in radius. This sphere will be kept in the air by the use of the Shi-Rudo’s Kinzokugan, and can even be made to move through the air. Using his Metal Eyes, the Shi-Rudo can cause 15 ft long, tentacle-like structures to extend from anywhere on the sphere’s surface. These tentacles are quite thin and strong (the latter due to their metallic composition) and are quite sharp, capable of leaving deep cuts when hitting human flesh. The tentacles are sharp enough to slice through defense of B-Rank and below with ease, and are very fast as well, requiring above-average reflexes and speed to dodge. They even possess enough strength to crush an unarmored human.
Name: Metal Sinkhole Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Chakra Cost: Description: This move requires the victim to be standing on metal. After forming the necessary handseals, a Shi-Rudo will focus on the target’s feet and will use his Kinzokugan to create a sinkhole beneath the target’s feet by softening the metal, causing them to sink down into the metal. Once the target is far down enough, the metal can returned to its original solid state. This sudden change in state will cause the target’s body trapped within the metal to be crushed completely, ultimately killing them
Name: Metal Shell Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Chakra Cost: Description: The Shi-Rudo will form the required handseals which will cause any metallic structure within a 20 meter radius to lunge at the target. The metal will first aim to bind the target’s legs and will then cover their arms and will finally form a large rectangular box around them, encasing them inside a shell it and restricting their movement completely by sticking their metal-covered arms with the box’s sides. Once the target’s limbs have been bound, it is nearly impossible for them to escape the rest of the justu.
The box will be impervious any physical attack of the same rank and below. Ninjutsu attacks of the same rank and below will have no effect on the Metal Coffin, and the Metal Shell itself restricts all body movements, even simple movements such as forming handseals. This jutsu is used to setup the use of the “Wrath of Metal” technique.
Name: Wrath of Metal Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Chakra Cost: Description: A jutsu mostly performed after the usage of Metal Shell, the Shi-Rudo will use his Kinzokugan to make the metal encasing the target constrict tightly, crushing the target’s bones and organs and killing them instantly. Alternatively, the clan member can simply have a series of sharp spears grow from the box’s inner walls and impale the target, fatally wounding them if not killing them instantly. This move cannot be used in the same post as Metal Shell (or any other binding technique).
Name: Ultimate Jutsu: Metal Giant Rank: S Type: Ninjutsu Element: N/A Chakra Cost: Description: One of the most powerful techniques of the Shi-Rudo clan, this allows the clan member to create a hundred foot tall, featureless, humanoid figure made out of metal that lacks any form of nose, mouth, eyes, or ears. Obviously, for this to be possible, an extremely large amount of metal is necessary for this to be accomplished, which is why it is rarely used. Clan members usually make use of the Metallic Regeneration jutsu in combination with this technique to create a giant from a small source of metal. Whatever method the clan member uses, at least three posts of concentration are required for the clan member to successfully perform this technique. Shi-Rudo will usually place numerous forms of protection around themselves to ensure they are not interrupted.
Once the giant has been completed, the Kaihaku will then send a signal to it using his Kinzokugan to “mark” the enemies and allies. The giant shall then go on a rampage as it attacks the target or targets. Because of its size, the giant is not easy to outrun, even though it is quite slow in its motions. The giant shall have enough strength to punch through an entire mountain. While it shall be incapable of performing Ninjutsu, it shall be able to launch various metal projectiles at the target/targets.
Even after the giant has been formed, the clan member may not cease his concentration. The longer the clan member concentrates, the longer the giant remains, however as with most maintainable jutsu, every three posts that the giant is kept, the Shi-Rudo must sacrifice a B-Rank’s worth of chakra. Should the Shi-Rudo’s concentration be broken or should he end the technique, the Metal Giant shall crumble into fine particles of metal. The side-effect of using such a powerful jutsu is that the clan member shall faint from mental strain of maintaining the jutsu and shall remain unconscious for two real life days. If the technique is held for too long it can also result in the clan member’s death.
