Location: Anywhere, origins unknown

Signature Traits:

Though no specific physical attributes guide the members, active descendants of this long forgotten clan posses several distinct personality features. Typically, even a particularly young member of the Hasu clan possesses a keen intellect and an inner calm matching that of old and wise sages. This is mainly due to the reason that the activation of the clan's ability only comes once certain criteria of one's mind are met.

It would not be far off to call the members of Hasu a "spiritual" lot, as the active members are typically not only relentless warriors, but spreaders of wisdom and peace throughout this war ridden land. Though their most distinct features are more mental and behavioral rather than physical, many report active members to posses the most penetrating, deep, even scary eyes in the history of clans. Their few numbers, sage-like behavior and mysterious gaze have earned them a place amidst the most unknown warrior clans, as they are regarded more as monks rather than fighters.

Active members usually teach in schools, practice medicinal arts and never use force willfully, much less their hidden power- the Lotus. Display of their power has rarely been seen throughout history, many come to the conclusion their power is a legend. Due to their well-wishing and spiritual nature, they rarely pick sides, as they see the grey where others see black and white. Active members have a seeded love for life and respect for death, both of which coming to terms with and helping others to do so throughout their lives is their actual priority in this existential plane.

Kekkei Genkai:

ヨウシーキ ノ コンぴク, Youshiki no Konpaku [Formation of Spirit]

Overview: The name of the Kekkei Genkai, Youshiki no Konpaku reveals the clan's innermost philosophy. However, first about the Kekkei Genkai itself, which plays a deeper part the members life than in most other bloodlines. A descendant of this clan will not merely obtain this power- the bloodline will obtain the descendant. To put it simply; a descendant can either become an active member, or an inactive member. Inactive members do not get to accomplish much, as each member with the status "inactive" is deceased.

This is because one with the Hasu genes will either die or obtain the bloodline, depending on the development of his or her minds. One with a shrouded, dark and craving mind will never know that he was a descendant of Hasu. He will simply loose his mind, then die. One who knowingly, intuitively or by chance shifts his or her mind towards the noble aspects of the human consciousness, will attain a state of mind that if deemed fit by whatever mechanism controls this biological process- will attain the powers of the Kekkei Genkai "Formation [or Manifestation] of Spirit". To put it even blunter- anyone "infected" with this bloodline will either accept their destiny by becoming noble and spiritually oriented souls, or be driven mad due to their naturally oversensitive mind absorbing foul information and ignorance, after which they welcome death as release from this tormented life.

Ability: The ability of this clan is relatively difficult to comprehend. One may say they are very advanced Genjutsu users, however they themselves would refer to this type of genjutsu as a the spiritual realm being brought to the mortal one. Their main ability is to summon a realm, within which they have an upper hand mainly because of their ability to manipulate it and execute impressive streaks of genjutsu within. The realm may be different each time, however once it has been summoned, it cannot be changed during the battle. What is truly mind wrecking about this clan's ability is that they basically use illusions, however, the illusions can rarely be dispelled. There is a saying- only a hasu, can trick a hasu.

Their illusions are so powerful that even sharingan has trouble piercing them, thus scaring the opponent with the thought that all that is happening is indeed reality. The peaceful nature of this clan compliments the nature of genjutsu, as genjutsus themselves cannot kill or hurt a person. Killing is not what the descendants of this clan are renowed for. But since genjutsu cannot kill and are not at all physical, they can be amassed in impressive combinations and numbers within this realm with no hand seals. Skilled Hasu clansmens choose to use the realm to confuse their opponent in order to catch them off guard with something very real. One whom dies within the realm only faints in reality. No one can die, so the Hasu make poor assassins of choice, but perfect for "capture alive" missions.

There is much to be said about the realm. The realm is like an arena into which the opponent (or multiples opponents) is forcefully dragged into via the Hasu descendant. Activating the Gekkei Genkai means that the realm has been summoned, the eyes of the Hasu turn indigo purple. Only one (or a group) whom had eye contact with the Hasu PRIOR to the activation of his or her Gekkei Genkai are dragged into the realm. Others will find themselves within a mist in which they'd find no one and nothing (they may choose to exit it). Not even the most skilled chakra sensor could find the battling individuals within that mist. The exact functioning of this mist and realm is a mystery every to the descendants, but apparently the minds of the chosen individuals and the hasu are connected into a sort of group trance and their physical bodies shielded by this unnatural "bermuda's triangle mist". This, however, make Hasu perfect for picking out opponents one by one from within a group.

The realm may take the form of any landscape; from open sea to the exact same area the battle had begun in. Everyone, including the young Hasu will have to obey the physical laws set within the realm. For example if the realm would be open sea- its a swim/fight battle and drowning means fainting in actual reality. The realm is as this alternate reality marble. Within it- the Hasu is master and can manipulate this reality accordingly to his or her rank. Certain things can and cannot be done within the realm. The landscape can be changed by the Hasu accordingly to rank. For example while a genin Hasu may only create a few water pillars, a chuunin sharks within an open sea realm, a master could create whirpools, massive waves. Hasu have an all around set of genjutsus and miscellaneous techniques to execute within the realm, but the main focus is upon the manipulation of the realm and use of personal skills to catch the opponent off guard or amidst the genjutsu.

Needless to say, Hasu are very much immunue to genjutsus. Anyone whom uses a genjutsu upon a Hasu with apparent success will find unusual results: suddenly waking in the situation before the cast of the genjutsu with only chakra loss to affirm that it happened at all. This is a "gen-backfire", a graceful gift for the descendants of Hasu. Only two rank higher uchiha can can genjutsu upon Hasu with certain success and only a rank higher Hasu can cast a genjutsu upon another Hasu. This goes to say why Hasu never fights Hasu with genjutsu if they're both the same rank. They couldn't even drag one another into their realms.

History: Oddly enough, the clan's history is absolutely lost. The current status of the clan is "almost extinct". It is probably one of the oldest clans in the world, with long periods of extinction and sudden rebirths, only to go extinct once more. The main reason for this is that Hasu clansmen, due o their mental state see no reason to proudly announce themselves as a clan. It has always been so. Some were never even aware of their special ability to actually having been a part of a clan once. All that is known is the symbol they so much adore, whether this is because it was once the crest of when the clan was official within its golden age or because all wise men seem to adore it is not know. The symbol of this clan is a blue lotus and it is all that has officially signified their existence recently.

During their golden age the Hasu clan center was situated high up in the mountains. There they lived a peaceful life within their monastery complex and never truly interfered with the ongoing calamities of the world beneath. It was not until they were called into battle by masters who apparently owned the land they resided in that the Hasu came to fight their first true conflict. As expected the Hasu declined to serve in the military of the landlord and were thus known as traitors. Once the war had ended, the victorious landlord, filled with pride, marched an army up into the monastery- 7 of his finest battalions and 3 great generals to lead. The army never returned.

The legend goes that the Hasu master, using ancient presumably lost Hasu techniques, trapped the entire army in an illusion [known as The Realm] and every last of the warriors were put to sleep after a crushing defeat within the realm againt a few dozen of his faithful Hasu disciples. It was said that a days long mist descended upon the entire land from the mountains. The master died having to sustain the realm and the changes within- an entire battle of armies. After which, the Hasu, filled with grief for their kind monastery master, took the army's supplies, buried their master within the monastery and left it into all of the directions of the world in groups of families. They could not live within their monastery as it had become compromised by the unholy spirit of war, death and greed. The army died within the mountains having no supplies. Some survived. They were the ones to tell the tale of the mystical and illusive clan known as Hasu.


Clan Jutsu:

Name: Youshiki no Kunpaku [Manifest of Spirits] (Activation)

Description: Characteristic of the Hasu Clan. The caster first assumes eye contact with the ones he wishes to cast on. After activation, the surroundings change to what the Hasu clan member wishes [detailed description necessary] or even the exact same appearances as the area one is currently in [to fool the opponent that nothing has changed]. The realm can be maintained almost indefinitely and is simply activated by willpower alone. It is the manipulations within the realm that drains chakra. The more change- the more drain, no hand seals are necessary to create the changes though. The changes are split into 3 main categories: visual (coupled with sounds), sensory and audio distortions (sound alone). Visual is considered the lowest and easiet change to implement, the example would be the ground splitting open. Audio distortion is considered a medium change such as the opponent hearing a sudden constant ringing or other sound that isn't connected to a visual change or event. Sensory (such as pressure or gravitational changes) is considered a grand scale change, an example would be the opponent of the Hasu experiencing sudden heat waves. These changes are usually never the demise itself of an opponent, Hasu tend to use these changes to fool the opponent into a clever trap or make the opponent counter what he perceives as a threat with chakra draining jutsus.

  • Genin can issue minor to medium changes and up to 3 changes at a time, strictly 1 of them can be medium.

  • Experienced Genins can issue minor to medium changes but up to 5 changes at a time, of which up to 3 can be medium changes.

  • Chuunins can issue medium to large scale changes and up to 5 changes at time, only 2 of them can be large scale.

  • Experienced chuunins can issue average to large scale changes, but up to 6 changes at a time of which only 3 may be large scale.

  • Jounins can issue large and grand scale changes up to 7 changes at a time of which only 2 may be grand scale.

  • Experienced Jounins can issue large and grand scale changes, up to 8 changes at a time of which 3 may be grand scale.

  • Should one be kage, S-ranked, Clan Leader ect. one may issue large scale and epic changes, up to 10 changes at a time of which only 1 may be an epic change [such as a meteor storm].


The change system works pretty simply. Once a change has been implemented into the realm, as long as it is active this takes up one slot of the allowed number of changes. One must post whether the change has dissipated, if not, its still active. The changes drain chakra the longer they are being held in effect. The amount of chakra drain depends on the "scale level" [mentioned above] of the issued change. Once the realm has been summoned a detailed description is due if the arena is changed into something of the Hasu's choice. Only things within this arena can be changed. For example if the arena is an open field of grass one may not choose to use the change system to summon a lake out of nowhere. Neither can the skies suddenly begin raining with fire if the arena was originally designed as an indoor area. This principle is called "event calamity", a Hasu may only work with the arena he has summoned. So a detailed description is important.

One may, as mentioned before, also choose not to change the surroundings to gain the element of surprise [as in, the hasu and his opponent HAVE entered the realm, but the opponent is unaware of this, especially if he has never faced a Hasu before, as the surroundings have not changed one bit]. This is quite useful however one may not change the surroundings once they are within it and the realm does not subside until a victor is declared through admittance or death. This is a reason the Hasu never use this technique on anyone and why choosing your realm wisely in the beginning of battle is the main principle of victory, as one may not be able to summon a realm, then cancel it and summon another.

Description: Trademark jutsu of the Hasu and possibly one of their only Ninjutsu. After appropriate hand seals have been applied within a "Realm mist" [the mist that covers a Hasu's and his opponent's physical bodies], a Hasu may choose to enter the Realm of another Hasu's doing, provided that the Hasu who created the Realm is strictly HIGHER ranked than the one entering it and that the host accepts. This way the Hasu can teamwork and gang upon their opponents. The Hasu that enters the Realm may utilize changes according to his or her rank at the expense of the host Hasu's chakra [this is why the master Hasu died in the history section]. So the teamwork has to be carefully balanced.

Description: Another trademark jutsu of the Hasu. After appropriate hand seals have been applied, the user may choose to create up to 3 eyeballs in front of a visually confirmed target's eyes. The 3 eyes my be cast on one opponent each or upon one in any time interval of the Hasu's liking. They function as "genjutsu starters" (aka "eye contact'er"). If someone has had eye contact with the eye [and once you do they burn up in flames] that someone is now prone to a genjutsu that can be casted upon him only by the user of the eye.
