Strangers and Candy. [P; Miku-Nat-Matsu-Seiga]

It was a perfect day in Kumogakure no Sato in Miku's opinion. Hot enough to go swimming, but cool enough to relax without sweating like a pig. The Kunoichi wore a white button-down short-sleeved shirt, unbuttoned to reveal her aqua blue tank top and comfortable black jean shorts with her black flip-flops. Her hair remained the same as always, bangs pulled back with a single barette, this time colored a bright yellow. A large grin could be seen on Miku's lightly-tanned face. She had just finished shopping for candy, which she loved dearly. Anyone who knew well enough, knew that she didn't just settle for one type of sweet. In her small shopping bag held lollipops, gumdrops, bubblegums, and sour little candies in all sorts of flavors. Her favorite was lemon and green apple. How delicious it all was. The nineteen year old Kunoichi could never understand why women would try so hard to avoid candy! All you had to do was exercise properly and eat healthy in between. Miku shrugged off the thought and began to unwrap a green apple lollipop. She dropped the wrapper back in her small shopping bag and began to devour the lollipop.

Miku continued to walk her way out of the busy market until she reached the Fountain. It had been one of her favorite places to go to as a child. She could remember a time when she would attempt to swim in the fountain, all ending in failure. She laughed at the memories, "Kukukuku!". With her free hand she carefully dipped her hand into the water of the fountain. It was very cool and smooth, like water should be. Miku averted her attention to the Statue that produced the water. She continued to devour her lollipop, but thinking intently about the Statue. It was a woman sculpted out of beautiful dark marble. Was she modeled after someone? Or was she just a random woman? Why hadn't she ever questioned this before? Miku shrugged her shoulders to her own question and began to look at all the people around the area.

A group of children then grabbed her attention. They appeared to be playing a game of tag. Miku watched from the fountain in amusement. They laughed and ran around, but then stopped altogether and began to argue. Miku was now baffled. Why are they arguing?, She wondered. After a few minutes of eavesdropping, the Kunoichi had gathered that one of the children was cheating and would lie about not being it, and then would tag the others. She frowned with her lollipop in her mouth. Then, just like that, a wide grin came back. Miku dug into her candy bag and plucked a few pebble-like candy. She would carefully chuck one of the pebble-candies by the children. It was like feeding ducks or pigeons! The children had no idea where the candy was coming from, but they would all swoop down and began to happily munch on the candies. Miku laughed, "Kukukuku!".

Nat grumbled as he fiddled with his coat, the arm his arm was stuck halfway through and he was too lazy to pull it back out and unfold the sleeve so he just pushed harder until finally it released and he slid his arm through. He stood at the entrance to his apartment, with is free hands he was adjusting the coat and his undershirt while his feet were being stuffed into his shoes. He wore his usual garments; a black coat with a white bar down the sleeves, his purple and black long-sleeved shirt which was striped, grey pants with an eastern dragon design on them, and plain white shoes. His hair was a mess, frilly and wild as always. He wore purple mascara around his eyes, never dark enough to be seen as 'makeup' but you could tell, he looked like a punk. He untangled his necklace and set off, shoving his hands in his pockets. Not a good start to his day. He closed the door to his apartment sharply, grumbling under his breath as he slammed the key into the lock and turned it, walking down the hall to the first flight of stairs he could find and stepping down them in two's loudly. "Good Grief! I thought there was a horde of Elephants coming down the stairs, how are you today Nathaniel?" The somewhat heavy-set desk manager asked him, he grumbled something incomprehensible and handed her his keys, pushing open the door and stepping out into the warm Kumogakure sun. "Figures." He muttered, Nat wasn't much of a sunny day lover. He preferred the rain, or the cold; or a combination of both. He didn't like the sun, there were days when this would change of course; but today was obviously not one of them. He wanted the day to match his mood; if he was having a bad day, he wanted a thunderstorm that would shatter eardrums, that was almost never the case though.

He walked out into the street; he checked his pockets, they felt precariously empty. He reached into his back one which held his wallet and opened it. He could almost hear a wheeze come out of it. He frowned deeply closed it and stuffed it back into his pocket. "Sh*t." he muttered, a kid gave him a sidelong glance as he muttered it, he gave the kid a glare and the boy scampered off munching on a piece of candy. He looked to the direction that the boy came from, spotting a loud crowd of children gathered around something on the ground, he kept his distance but watched. It was candy, he had to grin; the expression "like taking candy from a baby" hit him in the head and he almost broke into laughter. He watched carefully, which one had the candy? Sure it wasn't the healthiest breakfast but hey, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. The Candy appeared to be falling from the sky to the kids, and he watched, the only hand that flew up was one of a woman, gently tossing it into the air. He never stopped moving this entire time, he kept in pace with the rest of the few crowds that mingled through the street. The woman was with no man; it was an easy target but if she was so willing to give it away could he not just ask? He lowered his brows at the thought. Yeah, Real Manly. "hey miss, can i have some candy?" Playful grin. HA! He thought with a frown. He sighed, he didn't feel good about it; but a stomach full of food was better then going hungry, or looking like a fool. He ran his thumb across his forehead and went for it.

He stepped out of the major paths of the crowds and mingled towards the fountain. He walked right in front of the woman with the candy, she couldn't have been 15. She was short. And went to grab the bag, as soon as his hand touched the small leather straps of the bag, it clasped like a robotic hand and he kept moving smoothly along, not running, just plainly walking. Step 1. He thought in his head, he was not new at this game. It was one of his favorites too. He grinned almost sinisterly, as he popped his collar up a little more.

The bright sun beamed down on Matsu has he slowly walked down the streets of Kumogakure. His shirt hung open and he wore black pants with normal shoes on. Sweat flowed down his face and his chest almost like a little waterfall. A groan escaped his lips as he tryed to regain his breath. It had only been ten or fifteen minutes since his training session had ended. His father had pushed him hard today, not letting up for even a second. If Matsu had been a little younger he probaly wouldn't be walking right now. The most likely conclusion would be him face down in the dirt, sleeping. He grinned as he though about it and wiped the sweat from his brow. Today wasn't going to be so bad.

People looked at him as he walked by. He just turned his head to them and nodded, continuing on as if nothing had happened. He was used to people staring at him. It was a natural thing in Kumogakure. The only reason they stared at him though was because he was one of the only Kaguya in the only village. There could be others but he just hadn't met them yet. The only ones that he knew of was his family and they weren't very fun to hang out with. Only his father could keep him busy and that was by training with him constantly. Now Matsu had the day off from training and he had no clue what he was going to do.

Might as well take a stroll over to the fountain. Might be somebody to talk to there.

Matsu turned from the path he had been walking and started moving towards the fountain area. As he neared it he heard children laughing and playing. He grinned, marveling at how much fun the younger children always had. It was traning this and training that for him since he was a Genin. His father didn't want him letting his Sensei down when he finally got one. Matsu shook his head, he had been waiting for days to be put on a squad and nothing had come up yet. The wait was killing him. He wanted to get to know the people that he would be training with until he became a Chuunin. Maybe he would get a squad soon, who knew.

The sounds of the children had become closer and Matsu looked up. Candy was being thrown to the children by a girl that wasn't too far away from him. She looked about his age but he couldn't be sure. His footsteps fell lightly as he started walking towards her. He could do with a piece of candy right then. He hadn't ate anything all morning and all the training had left him starving. It would have to suffice. Beggars couldn't be choosers.

Just as Matsu neared the girl another boy walked by and grabbed her bag. Matsu was surprised by what he had just seen. He had to do something or else the guy might get away with all the candy. That was not something that he could let happen. He needed some of that candy so he started walking towards the boy. Matsu moved swiftly and stuck his foot out in front of the boy, planning to trip him up.

"Stop right there! That doesn't belong to you. What are you doing taking it?"

Seiga stalked quietly behind his brother following the familiar path towards the fountain and couldn't help but smile. Before noticing the scene at the fountain he would quietly meld into the crowd of children pulling at his collar and sighing. Dipping a finger in the fountain he debated trying it again, deciding to proceed the boy sent a small amount chakra into the water he would make an ice cube. Hefting the nice sized chunk of ice with a grin, although he seemed a little worn out from the act, but still his eyes darted energetically. Standing up tall still smiling, he would cock his hand back the ice already melting slightly, making cold water drip down his fingers and wrist before he moved in a fluid motion the ice leaving quickly and flying towards his nii-san and the other boy.

Dropping into a crouch Seiga moved quickly over to stand inadvertently behind the woman that had original possession of the candy. Snickering slightly he would move to one side to peer around his chosen shield, at Matsu and the stranger. Thinking he would be picked out from the crowd he would move to hide behind the stranger dripping cold water from his right hand as small particles of ice that had stuck to him melted. Looking down at the puddle Seiga would mutter and crouch low trying to keep out of detection range.

Miku smiled happily while she continued to toss the pebble like candies at the children. Her palm was soon empty and she reached her hand back for more candy when an unsettling and confused feeling swept her body. The lightly-tanned hand of the Kunoichi felt nothing by her side. 'B-but it was right here!' She yelped in her mind while looking to see if it had possible slid off onto the ground. It was nowhere near her body. Had she been pick pocketed?! Her mouth gaped open in horror and she quickly scanned around the crowd. The children didn't realize the halt of the candy being thrown and continued to have a good time with the candy they still had. Miku was no longer having a good time. Usually being the hero was her role, but it would appear now that she was the victim. Oh the irony.

She quickly darted her eyes around and moved further into the crowd. Miku did her best to control the panic and disappointment rising in her. It was then that not only had she finally spotted her bag, but another individual had jumped into the scene. "Stop right there! That doesn't belong to you. What are you doing taking it?" The tall man yelled after the darkly dressed thief. 'He must have seen him pickpocket me! Well, that confirms it.' She stated mentally in her head. Miku was going to take action like the Jounin she was. It was then she was caught off guard by a single chunk of ice, hitting the two. This day was getting weirder and weirder. Miku saw no point of addressing where the ice and come from, she wanted her candy back. "Hey!" She yelled after the two, while attempting to catch up with them. They weren't too far away. The tall man stuck out his foot in attempt to trip the man.

Miku did not wish to end with someone getting a head injury. She formed a single handsign, preforming one of her paper manipulation jutsu. The paper began to form around her target, the man with her purse, and blocked off possible escape routes. While doing this, she had inched closer and closer with every step. The paper was already almost done forming and the Kunoichi was pretty confident that she had at least slowed the thief down. She quickly jumped in the paper surrounded area. "I just want my candy back!" Her voice sounded a little distressed, but mostly discomfort. Miku didn't mind fighting, but it felt odd in such a secure area that she called home. Weren't people watching? With a small glimpse of the thief, she had concluded he was a bit on the edgy side, but he was surprisingly young looking as well as thin looking. Miku suddenly thought about what her mother always spoke of. Second chances. It was a concept Miku believed in as well, just not nearly as strong as her mother's. 'Maybe he's just hungry? Why couldn't he have ate them like the children?! All he did was attempt to steal my candy, not nearly as bad what I have ran into before. Maybe he can reason with me?' She thought rapidly. "So, could we just share my candy?! I mean, can't we just work this out?" Miku did her very best to sound sincere.

Nat frowned as he was asked to stop, the lad who had spoken to him being a half head taller then him but definitely younger. He had no stubs of facial hair on his face nor was his voice as low as Nat's. It gave him the creeps; people should grow at a normal pace, he felt pretty average with his height, which he was; but this kid was a freak on wheels. He began to run, the boy's foot which had been attempting to trip him was cleanly stepped onto and over using Nat's over-active balance as a medium for this. He didn't stop then though, he kept going, full speed heading away from the area. Someone had attempted to lasso him with paper or something of sorts, he didn't know and he didn't want to find out what it was he escaped urgently and managed to slip free before the paper completely surrounded him. He didn't believe it was humanly possible for him to run as fast as he did through the crowds, he was certainly making a trail for the others to follow with all the people he pushed and shoved out of the way. He gave one big long push to a rather large man and sent him rolling down the street doing the same amount of damage Nat was doing and causing the same rage. He grinned and ducked behind an Alley, then like a mouse crept down it and took a right. He stood in a new street, and taking the chance he opened the bag reached inside and pulled out a few pieces of candy, it seemed like it was heavier when he left.. blood and bloody ashes... he thought to himself looking at the trail of candy he had left behind him. He frowned and smacked himself in the forehead. He grabbed two handfuls of candy and dropped the bag, running again.

Idiot! He thought to himself, unhappy with the recent turn of events. He crossed the street and made sure the candy was not falling out of his pockets, then ducked inside a clothing store. He sighed and went to the far left side and began to look at some belts, watching out of the corner of his eye at the door to the shop; it was the only way in unless they wanted to break a window or two. And he highly suspected that the group was still following him. He sucked on the candy in his mouth, he couldn't tell what it was but it was sweet and not soft, it felt like a gobbstopper or jawbreaker, something like that. He continued to watch the door and look at the belts, he was determined to stay until he was sure the coast was clear. He tapped his foot anxiously as he glanced over a different belt; most of them were plain leather or had attachments for someone to clip pouches or items to, he didn't like any of them really. He almost lept into the air when a woman asked him "Need help with anything?" He shook his head and nodded at her, explaining without words that he required no help. She nodded at him with a smile then walked off with a bewildered look on her face; most likely judging his taste of clothing or the like. He frowned, he needed to get somewhere safe; this store was still too close to the pickpocketing, there was still a handful amount of candy in the bag maybe they would leave him alone after finding it. But he couldn't be sure, so he sighed and kept his eye on the door silently watching for his captors.

Matsu groaned as the other boy stepped on his foot. He jumped back and bent down, rubbing the top of it. Just as he bent down to rub it a chunk of ice soared over his head, breaking against the ground behind him. His eyes widened with surprise and shock as he looked up, trying to find the culprit. All he could see was the kids laughing and eating the candy that was on the ground. His head snapped around and searched the crowd for the guy who had stolen the candy. He caught sight of him just as he turned a corner into a alley. Matsu sighed and climbed back to his feet, taking off down the trail that the boy had created.

There was no hassle getting to the alley because the boy had cleared a pretty good path for him. Along with the fat man he had pushed over, that had helped too. Matsu ran full speed down the alley, blasting out on the other side into a busy street. The other boy was nowhere in sight. Matsu hung his head and turned around, spotting the bag of candy. He grinned and reached down for it. His hand darted in as quick as a snake striking and came out the bottom through the hole that had been made. A glare spread across his face as he realized there were only a few pieces left. He pulled one out and popped it in his mouth. After he started chewing on the piece of candy he had grabbed he threw the bag down and scanned the crowd for the other boy.

Five minutes after he had started searching he decided to check inside the clothing store that was almost directly across the street. Matsu walked across the street and pushed the door open, sticking his head in. He turned his head from side to side, searching the entirety of the store just by giving it a quick once over. Black against the white wall to his left caught his attention. He turned and looked, seeing the other boy. His eyes widened and he walked into the room, glaring at the boy. As soon as he reached him, he stared at him in the eyes and sighed.

"Why'd you steal that candy anyways? All you had to do was ask her. You saw how she was throwing it out into that crowd of children."

Matsu leaned against the wall beside him and looked at the door, wondering if anyone else had followed them. It was his guess that the girl the candy had been stolen from was following them. She probaly wanted her candy back just as badly as he wanted to eat it. And that person who had thrown the ice. His eyes narrowed as he thought of it. He only knew one person in the village who could do that. If it was who he was thinking of he wouldn't be very mad, just a little annoyed.

The store clerks looked at the two boys that were standing against the back wall watching the door suspiciously. Matsu looked at them for a second and then returned his attention to the door. Too much attention wasn't something that he favored and it looked like he was getting quite a bit of it. He shook his head and kept watching the door, hoping someone would walk in soon. Just standing here with this creepy kid beside him was getting kind of weird. He wasn't exactly used to being near people who dressed like the other boy. His father beleived in looking clean and like you held yourself in high regards. Not like the guy beside him, who were some of the craziest clothes he had seen along with mascara. He had olnly ever seen girls wear mascara. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes, hoping the boy would give a reasonable answer or someone would walk through the door.

Seiga moved quickly after his brother following at a little bit of a distance before almost getting lost outside the clothing store as a pack of sweaty adults began to run by not caring if they trampled the boy as he stood stock-still amid them; the strong scents of the over-reaching adults filled Seiga's nostrils and he began to gag slightly. As a breeze came rushing by the adults had passed and he took a deep breath trying to clear his lungs of the air that had been around the busybodies. Finding a moment Seiga would stop turning slightly in his spot and take a moment in a crouching position to clear his head of the dizzy feeling left behind by all the different adult odors combined. Taking notice of his nii-san and the other boy he would duck lightly and stoop pulling a hat from the display outside and slipping it on down so his eyes were hidden before, stepping inside the store to pretend to browse. Taking things down and holding them up as if sizing them he would almost then instantly put them back with a shake of his head.

Reaching up into the different racks of clothing trying to draw as little attention from his nii-san as possible he would slowly begin to systematically search for sources of water. Finding only a fountain towards the back and the obvious sources would be in the bathroom so he walked slowly towards them taking a longer way, so he would slip out of everyones sight for a moment. Putting his hand to the fountain he would begin to scoop up the water forming it into ice, before turning back to face where his nii-san and the other boy were he would take the edges from the objects with a smile. Holding up the completed disk he would slid it towards them hoping to get the clear sheet in-front of the two in hopes to catch the thief encase he tried to run. Watching the clear surface were he knew the disk was he would watch the slick object waiting patiently for anything to happen.

Of course Miku had gone unacknowledged. Why would a thief on the run completely stop just to reply back to the person he stole from? She huffed in frustration and continued to follow the two boys. People were pushed aside in the pursuit, not by Miku of course, but by one of the other boys. It did help keep her vision on the tall one who had blocked out the thief. 'I'll just follow the tall one... He's close to the thief.' The Kunoichi thought to herself. It was then that she had also taken notice to the small trail of colorful candy along the ground. Green lollipops, hot pink bubblegum, red lollipops, yellow jawbreakers. They all made a colorful path. It lead to an ally, which she saw the tall boy just bolt from. There in the middle laid her bag. She quickly swooped and grabbed it, before continuing the chase. It was incredibly light. Miku didn't even have to look in it to now it was near empty.

Out of the ally and into the streets, she searched for the duo. No longer did candy stray across the ground. So long pretty colored trail. Now it was only the tall boy. He had lost the thief. Miku muttered inaudible nonsense and allowed the crowd of citizens to recompose themselves. As the tall boy searched, she went behind his track and double checked. It wasn't everyday that someone actually succeed in pulling a fast one on a Jounin. Could you blame the woman for just trying to enjoy her day off? Only a few more minutes passed until the tall boy switched onto the opposite side of the street. She raised an eyebrow and looked up at the shop sign. It was a clothing store. "Oh ho ho ho! I see, I see! What clever little men they are." Miku whispered playfully, despite the frustration she felt. She anxiously awaited to see the tall boy's results. Another few moments passed, but he did not resurfaced. Had he encountered the thief in the store? Or had he given up and decided to just casually shop for a new attire? The latter didn't see very likely.

The young Kunoichi slinked into the clothing store. Her emerald eyes darted from one clothing rack to another, as well as the corners of the room. However, she stayed right by the entrance of the store, sealing off the exit. Miku placed one hand on her hip and brought the other to her mouth. She took the lollipop out of her mouth and pointed boldly at the duo. The tall boy and thief. This brought baffled expressions from the clerks. "Kukukuku! I've found you!" She stated, more happy than distressed or frustrated like she had been. Miku didn't take the chance of letting anyone leave quietly and stayed right by the door. Someone would have to break the windows to leave or possibly attack her. The latter seemed unlikely in her opinion, seeing as possible witnesses watched by closely. She stepped further away from the door and closer to the boys, though exit still concealed. Her hand on her hip grabbed her abused bag and shook it. A single cherry lollipop fell to the ground. She raised her eyebrow and smirked slyly. "I hope you enjoyed my candy. Did you? Because so many children have before! Kukukuku!" Miku stated while laughing in a teasing manner, wagging her lollipop as if it were her index finger.

Although she didn't believe in mischief or crime, her mother's philosophy had rammed itself into her head. Both boy's only appeared as young teenagers, despite both being taller than her. "I can buy you some more if you enjoyed it so much! No joke! Kukukuku! Think of it as a peace offering... From a Jounin! What do you say?" She stated, pointing to herself when she mentioned the word 'Jounin'.

Matsu watched as the girl the candy had been stolen from walked into the building and started talking to them both. She was offering to buy more candy for the two of them. The Genin's eyes lit up at the thought of more candy and he nodded vigorously for more. He hoped the Jounin, as she had called herself, would really hod up her end and get them more candy.

The boy pushed himself up from the wall and walked forward. Just as he reached the Jounin a man burst through the door of the shop and ran up to Matsu, panting. Matsu eyed the man quizzacly and loocked down at the note in his hand. He shrugged his shoulders in confusion and then eyed the man.

"What's this about?!"

The man caught his breathe quickly and began talking, "That there is a letter telling you to meet your new Jounin sensei. It seems that you are now on a Genin Team. Good luck!" With that he turned and rushed out the door, leaving Matsu standing there, speechless.

A sigh escaped his lips as he turned back to the Jounin and the other boy. He had to leave now because he needed a good night's rest before his first day with his sensei and his Genin team. He waved to the two of them and bolted for the door, flying out it and running home. He had to tell his father about this.
