[lit;Comprehension]
This is the initiating phase of the Clan's unique style of combat and more. It starts off by possessing an intimate and knowledgeable relationship with the element they are trying to affect.
Due to the limiting nature of this, there is only a few elements that the user may become so deeply acquainted with. These elements are not those from the five that control the overall boundaries within the earth's realm. But rather that of the Periodic Table there are a few that the members of the Clan will know off the jump as they are automatically taught, before the Clan members are set off to work on their own paths. The total number of potential routes a Shinobi can take number a little over one hundred. No other Clan offers this level of customization and knowledge. At least, very few can compare.
The elements a starting Shinobi has already been introduced too are; Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium, Beryllium and Boron. Five starting elements. And during their independent studies, students will have come into closer contact with four other elements, leaving those who are starting at C-Rank with a total of nine. The options for a Genin to chose range from 6-20 on the Periodic Table.
At Chunin, the Shinobi will have mastered five more elements, and they can now choose from 6-40 on the Periodic Table.
Jonin now have the option to master another six, and may choose from 6-60.
S-Rank Nin get to choose seven more to master, from any place on the Table, save the forbidden Elements.
And thus, comprehension is covered.

[lit;Deconstruction]
The next step in the Transmutation process is to dissolve the object, with the knowledge of the various elements that make up the compound. If the user is only directly affecting atoms and not actual compounds, then this stage can be skipped over. Sand is a perfect example of what naturally occurring elements could be fused together in larger quantities. Nonetheless, when a compound, or an object that possesses numerous compounds, for example, wood. One would have to be certain of the type of wood, then have comprehension of the sort of molecules that make up that specific type of wood, then the elements themselves.
Please note right here, that this Clan cannot produce new materials, and only pre-existing sources of alchemical compounds may be used. Additionally, it is vitally important to understand that since chakra is not a member of the periodic table, it cannot be manipulated. The only exception to this is when a transplant patient is performing the manipulation. For example, a Shinobi without Senju DNA would not be able to manipulate wood created by another Senju, or his own.

[lit;Reconstruction]
Ah, the final concept of the Chemical Section of the Alhimiya's gifts. Utilizing the two former steps, the Clan Member now approaches the final phase.
With the understanding of the materials within their grasp, and aforementioned material(s) reduced to their basic components, the Clan Member begins by fusing together the molecules in the fashion that they desire. If a Clan Member had used the previous past steps on a chair, he would have the ability to transform it into a shape he desired. i.e. a shield of sorts.
The reconstructed object is no more powerful then the parts that make up it's whole.
Additionally, it requires a shinobi of A-Rank to utilize this step to fuse two objects together. Creating various metal alloys for example; steel.
