| The Village of The Bloody Mist The Village of the Bloody Mist is an ideal, a goal, a distinction from being another village of Ninja. It transcends the weakness, innocence, and any similarities to other villages. It is born not on a premise of collective aid nor one of children becoming heroes. The Village of the Bloody Mist is a village of power, of war, of constant strife and struggle. It is one that creates not aspiring youths hoping for peace, but a village of soldiers and warriors, born from blood and battle, rather than idealism and hope. The Village of the Bloody Mist is a village dedicated to the Shinobi Arts. To the ideal of stealth, slaughter, and prowess within the Ninja World. Their ruthless mentality is reflected in their traditions, their trials, and their Shinobi. More than any other village, they bend their ninja into becoming weapons, tools of the village and their Kage. Murder is rampant. Power is fickle. And blades always ready to be drawn.
Goal - To create a Shinobi village with a distinctly different mentality than other villages, with an emphasis on a darker and more practical basis. Ninjas are shadows, not heroes. They are killers, not guardians. They are ruthless, not innocent. The Village of the Bloody Mist represents this. While any village could easily become transformed into such a dangerous mentality, the image of the Bloody Mist is already well-known within Naruto canon, and as the village is the most likely to be added to the site, it makes a prime candidate for being established under a different principle than the regular village systems which promote a more traditional and stream-lined Naruto experience, rather than one of more realistic and challenging atmosphere.
How? How do we make the Village of the Bloody Mist on this site, in all its gory? Well, the greatest number of ninjas within a village are typically Genins. As such, it would be best to start from there and move up. A distinct example of this could be requiring aspiring Genins wishing to join the village to participate in the battle royale murder exam that Zabuza so notably ended with his vicious participant, or a similar vicious exam. Why? Besides nostalgia, it will immediately require the Genins of the village to both require the killing intent that will characterize the village. If they aren't willing to kill their fellow classmen, it is only natural that they would die, and fail the exam. As such, its only fitting that Genins wishing to join the village be required to murder their in. Additionally, it also serves as a pseudo-RP test, allowing the rest of the village to see their skills. The Village of the Bloody Mist will be a constant war of power and blood, with the strong dominating the weak. Jounins will be encouraged to slaughter their rival's students, and the students encouraged to win their leaders honor and glory. The village will be black, very much so, although not necessarily evil. Instead, it will have a militaristic and political struggles not found in other villages, where rivalry are rarely more than small skirmishes.
An important element for this transformation of Bloody could be an initial political struggle. An example of this would be a conflict between two factions both aiming to place a Mizukage atop the throne. The debate escalates into full out war, which is RPed, with the initial village members serving under the actual Mizukage who will triumph and bring the village into its "Bloody" era. This would be a fantastic event in the respect that it lets the original Mist ninjas actually FEEL apart of their village, in the respect that they actually be building its new revolutionary form. It would also distinguish it from other villages in that the event would show exactly what the village is based upon. Having to fight over a divided village will make being part of it that much sweeter, instead of merely coming into the village as if you had always been apart of it. This event would also establish early loyalties to the new Mizukage, whose vicious reign will be rewarding to those who'd serve him early on.
Who? Currently right now, I'd agree with Adam that the site is populated enough for a new village. However, I'd think a third village would make the site more worth joining. Personally, I hate the two villages. To me, it doesn't give much choice or inspire much. Why join this site with 2 villages when their are sites with fifteen unique villages? The birth of Kirigakure, while not possible now, will invigorate the site when it does. An important thing to note is the draw on other villages it will have. There is no doubt in my mind that when Kirigakure is born, it will make ninjas of other villages want to join it, be it when their characters die or plain straight-up defect, especially if it has the darker Bloody Mist vibe I'd hope for. This is to be expected and actually will have some fun RP consequences. But we don't want anyone village to dominate just because everyone joined it instead of any other villages. Naturally, Adam will work around that. As to the Mizukage, I vote me, cus I'm awesome
Why? As of the moment, I don't see much personality from the two villages. While I'm sure once I've spent some time with Kumo, and watched some Konoha RPs, it'll become clearer. But right now, there's no actual difference apparent to newcomers in the villages. This is partially because the site doesn't have any history or RP background. There's nothing currently concrete available to new ninjas telling what's going on. (Something I'd like to see done about. No one is gonna go looking through every topic every made on the site in hopes of getting a feel for what the hell has already happened.) I feel that the next village should change that in both starting with an interesting birth and living as a distinct within the face of the ninja world. With Kekkai Genkais available to every village equally (Which I dislike, just for the record. It kinda says "Screw canon clans wanting to keep their secrets hidden"), there's nothing that really makes anything I do in Kumo impossible to do in Konoha. Perhaps the mods prefer that, but I'm hoping to establish more concrete distinct qualities within villages, both in Kumo where I am now, and hopefully in the future with Kiri, regardless of where on the totem pole I will stand.
The heck should I listen to you? - Because for six years I worked on as a member, moderator, Admin, and Head Admin of what was one of the most popular Naruto sites I've seen, and its the main reason Admin begs me to get on at all. That ain't bragging friend- That's just a fact. I'm here BECAUSE Admin thinks I'm the shit. Which I am. Which IS bragging x3 But seriously. I know what I'm saying. I don't know this site quite well enough. But I know sites. And this one need more depth in story to it. Making Kiri the Bloody Mist when it comes out will be a great step. |
