| I am going to briefly state it:
Is it possible for me to have my current character archived in order to create a new one? |

| The only way we archive characters if through a user going inactive or being banned. We allow you to create a new character, however, the only way to do this is through death, whether planned or accidental, or suicide of your character.

| Then how about a revamp of the same character? |

| Revamps are rarely allowed and only do we ever allow them, they're usually small edits.

| Sort of a similar question to this one. Would it be possible to replace a Specialization/SC?
In case of the SC, obviously you lose one and have to RP for another, right? Not much more to it.
I would imagine with the Specialization that you would lose all (or if you're higher rank - the majority) of your Techniques, in terms of that Specialization. Then you would have a lot of training to do. Seems like a fair enough exchange. |

| SC - Yes. Specialty - No.
Specialties define the character's abilities. To change specialties you'd have to change Combat style as well. Not to mention it would pose an enormous hassle to change all of this, add new jutsu, and the like. May a well just make a new character at that point. |

| Surely not though. For the Staff, you would just remove the whole section of Jutsu (and spare 5 if someone is capable of using D/C rank jutsu). The amount of training required to gain a sensible/respectable/necessary/suggested/safe amount of Jutsu in the new specialization, would reflect the effort necessary to change one's ways. After all, we're talking about 20 odd training posts. Seems like a punishment enough.
And really, this would only require a simple template + a lot of work. e.g
Character Name: Link to Profile: Spec. being Removed: Spec. being Added: Five Jutsu Saved: (if applicable) Updated Combat Style: (post in a spoiler)
- Code:
-
[b]Character Name:[/b] [b]Link to Profile:[/b] [b]Spec. being Removed:[/b] [b]Spec. being Added:[/b] [b]Five Jutsu Saved:[/b] (if applicable) [b]Updated Combat Style:[/b] (post in a spoiler) |

| As Enzo rightly said, we do not replace Specialties, only Special Characteristics. I know this, as I have witnessed it in the past when I was a member and had asked a previous Staff member about the topic. The answer was no then and the answer is no now. You're idea, though intriguing, could be easily abused by members wishing to hop from one Specialty to the other in order to gain an advantage over their opponents. Plus some clans actually require certain Specialties, so if they were to remove the specialty, then they'd have to remove their clan as well.

| Well, that seems like a difficult system to abuse since you lose a bunch of techniques and have to work hard to get new ones, albeit, from a different specialization. And yes obviously if you are limited by a Clan, then a request would be denied. Also, this wouldn't come in effect in any current topics your character was in, as most changes don't and neither should this one (especially not this one). So in other words, you would have to plan ahead by quite a long-shot, thus reducing the chances that anyone doing this is doing it for the purpose you suggested. Another thing could be placing a limit on how often one can change their specialization. I'm suggesting once or twice, though one could argue that if you're willing to work hard to make up for the change, it shouldn't be too restricted.
Either way, seeing as it's not allowed at this moment in time, do you guys see it as something that could be implemented in the future? Alongside an SC changing template/system. Two birds with one stone really.
As I mentioned, you lose the majority of your techniques, have to train a lot to make the change worth-while, plus it doesn't take effect in your current topics, there is a limit of how often you can do it and Clans or other limitations/reservations can lead the request to be denied. Seems balanced enough. |

| D: How rude. My eyes are open... most of the time
And that shucks. I was personally interested in doing such a change. Any advice on the matter other than Uros' drastic 'dump your character' idea? xD PM me plz.
I'm guessing this topic can be archived. |
