Formating changes, and altered weapons Vide
PostSubject: Formating changes, and altered weapons Formating changes, and altered weapons EmptySun 14 Mar 2010, 6:42 am

Hello, as my clan has been updated, my character is needing the same treatment. All Saya needs to do is trade in her standard issue, for the new list of standard issue from her clan. While these are the only changes needed, I am beginning to see a problem with clutter. As such, I'd like to break up my weapons. So if you could edit my sheet in the following manners, I would greatly appreciate it.

These are the weapons that need to be changed. They are all different than the ones listed on Saya's sheet. Most are just 1 level to high on her sheet and need to be lowered. The new wording for her weapons follows, and should be used.
Spoiler:

With all the clutter I would like to break my weapons down into the four catagories of my Weaponry specialties. Swords under the Swords, Exotic under the Exotic, and so on. I can do this myself, and do not mind. I'm not sure how to add code into this, or I'd make it copy/paste able, but I'll do my best.

Swords:
Name: Footman's Sword: Katana
Quantity: 1
Location: In scabbard on left hip.
Rank: B
Appearance: This is a finely crafted longsword with a graceful curved blade. It is forged of solid steel and folded over and over to give it suprising durribility in spite of it's light design. It is a common weapon among warrios all over the various ninja nations. The Katana of the Ashigaru clan are almost all very old. Ancestral weaponry is issued to the soldier, however is expected to be returned. This weapon is not owned by the Ashigaru Soldier, it is owned by the elders of the clan. The weapons perfect functionality, as well as it's time tested and battle proven edge, make it a lethal and dangerous weapon in the hands of a skilled warrior. This weapon is a fine example of it's kind, and is razor sharp and much harder to break than a regular one.
Special Abilities/Characteristics: N/A This is a well made katana of great age, but nothing more. It has no openly magical powers, and can not channel chakra, but the sword is almost unbreakable. It is much lighter and much sharper than even a good quality katana, and is a perfectly crafted weapon.
Origin: The Ashigaru clan has a large collection of talented metal workers. Through out the years they have established a massive armory of ancestral weaponry. These weapons are guarded well, cared for, and repaired free of charge to any Ashigaru clan member that is still in good standing with their family. Showing cowardice, or losing a weapon, is sure to get you out of their good graces. Every Ashigaru is issued ONE katana by their squad commanding officer. If this weapon is lost, pity the EX-Soldier.

Polearms:
Name: Formation Yari
Quantity: 1
Location: Both hands, typically at home.
Rank: D
Appearance: The formation Yari for the ashigaru clan consists of a 17 foot long pole of laqured and leather bound bamboo. It is strong, ridged, and topped with a foot long metal spike. The spike is a three sided metal blade, who's point is razor sharp and constructed to punch holes through armor and horses alike.
Special Abilities/Characteristics: The reach of this weapon makes it ideal for dealing with mounted troops. The bamboo the poles are contructed from is cut into strips, assembled in a tight pole, and bound with long strips of leather. After being carefully laquored the weapon is rendered almost unbreakable.
Every Ashigaru is issued ONE long Yari. If this weapon is lost, you better find it.

Name: Footman's Yari
Quantity: 1
Location: Over Shoulder, Both Hands
Rank: C
Appearance:The Footman's Yari consists of a six foot long staff. The staff is constructed of strips of bamboo formed into a tight shaft, and wrapped with long leather strips. It is then laquored, which renders the weapon almost unbreakable. A long blade is afixed to the end of the staff that can varry from between 1 to 2 feet long. The footman's yari does not have a single thrusting tip. Instead it is topped with a strong double edged blade that can be used for slashing as well as it can be used for piercing armor. The blade has a conciderable tang on the end, which when inserted into the shaft makes it very hard to snap the blade off.
Special Abilities/Characteristics: This weapon has impresive reach, but is still light, strong, and perfectly balanced. It is the halmark of the Ashigaru clan and a very deadly tool in their hands. It has no special properties, however all Yari from this clan are made with perfecting expectations. Any weapon with even a minor flaw at creation will be scrapped and it's blade recycled again. This weapon is a fine example of it's kind, and is razor sharp and much harder to break than a regular one.
Origin:] The Ashigaru clan has a lrghe collection of talented metal workers. Through out the years they hav established a massive armory of ancesral weapony. These weapons are guarded well, cared for, and repaired for free to any Ashigaru in good standing. The Footman's Yari is the only weapon that is constantly being made new in the clan, as more and more often these spears do not return. When an honorable and heroic Ashigaru dies, this is the only weapon they will be burried with, which draws them out of circulation more than the swords or axes. This spear is he ashigaru's life, and losing it is the largest disgrace an ashigaru can face. Better to be seen a coward, then to lose your spear. An Ashigaru is issued ONE Footman's Yari when they become a soldier.

Ranged:
Name: Fine Throwing Axe
Quantity: 4
Location: Right hip, towards back
Rank: D
Appearance:This weapon is forged in whole from a single peice of steel. It is well balanced, a little heavy, and has a razor sharp cutting edge. It can be used as a melee weapon in a pinch, but is made to be throw with speed and presicion. This is a heavier and more damaging form of a typical ninja's Kunai, and can be treated just as such
Special Abilities/Characteristics: This is just a throwing weapon. It's heavier weight does make it harder to deflect with another smaller thrown weapon, but it is still just a throwing axe. If it hits you in the face, you will likely have a bad day.
An Ashigaru is issued 4 throwing axes when they are assigned to a company. These may be replaced, but their size makes them relativly easy to collect after a battle has ended. Extra and replacement axes are sold for the value of their metal to Ashigaru soldiers.

Name: Spike Shooter
Quantity: 1
Location: Left Bracer
Rank: D
This weapon is little more than a solid metal cylinder that has been loaded with a spring and locking mechanism. The strong spring takes conciderable force to lock into place, but translates into greater speed and force for the projectile. The spike it shoots is much like a thick senbon, though each one has a short length of ribbon streaming from the back for stability. This weapon attached to the bracer covering Saya's left wrist. The compression tube that houses the spring is about 10 inches long, while the spike it shoots is about 8 inches long, and very sharp.
Special Abilities/Characteristics: This is a spring loaded crossbow, and can pretty much be treated just like one. Due to acuracy issues, using this weapon beyond a range of 50 feet is pretty pointless. The heavy spring must be reset after each shot, and a new spike must be loaded into it. The spike has good punching power, but short range.
Origin This is a simple ranged weapon that Saya picked up with money from missions. She had it fused to her metal bracer for ease of transport.

Exotic:
Name: Kyoketsu Shoge
Quantity: 1
Location: Coiled up on right hip, towards the front.
Rank: C
Appearance: The Kyoketsu Shoge is a versatile weapon derived from the Kusari-gama. It is essentialy a heavy dagger with a sharp hooked blade replacing the cross guard. The knife is attached to a 15 foot long chain, at the end of which is a weighted steel ring.
Special Abilities/Characteristics: The Kyoketsu Shoge is an endlessly useful weapon. The lengthy chain and weight can be used to tangle up other weapons, or disarm them completely. The chain is also useful for wrapping around peoples limbs, be they hands or feets or necks. The sharp kama at the end is a single edged sickle blade, that can cut quite easily through flesh. The addition of the ring on the end of this, instead of just the weighted ball, allows the chain to be quickly set into a loop for lassoing, ensnaring, or grabbing.
While Saya was visiting her home, she spent much of her saved money from her first lower rank missions. With that money, this is one of the basic weapons she equiped herself with.

Other Equipment:
Name: Hardened Spike
Quantity: 10
Location: Belt pouch in back.
Rank: E
Appearance:These spikes are little more than stylized crossbow bolts. They are 8 inches long inch and about a half inch in diameter. One end tapers into a very sharp point, while the opposing end has about five inches of light ribbon bound around it, that trails behind in flight to offer a bit of stability.
Special Abilities/Characteristics: This is just a sharp spike with no special powers. It has a range of 50 feet due to accuracy issues beyond that, but flies straight and true for those 50 feet. The 10 spikes are kept in a ninja's pouch until they are needed.

Name: Ashigaru Chain Tunic
Rank: C
Type: Armor
Natural Abilities: This suit is made from tiny steel links that have been woven together. Each suit is tailored to the wearer and provides a great amount of protection. While the links can be weak on their own, they are light enough to be worn beneath more traditional leather types of armor. It helps greatly in reducing the damage done by slashing of peircing weapons.

Name: Ashigaru War Armor
Rank: C
Type: Armor
Natural Abilities: Ashigaru armor is light. It proctes the vitals from serious injury, while allowing free mobility of arms and legs. Armor from the Ashigaru family has seen countless repairs, however still maintains it's masterful quality. The clan usualy designs it's armor to take the appearance of an oni or an ogre to help instill fear in their enemies. Most soldiers wear a traditional helmet with metal face plate resembling such a beast as well.

Name: Saya's Cloak of Immortals
Rank: C
Type: Armor
Description: This is a sturdy leather cloak that Saya thought up, and had her clan's metal workers fashion for her. It concists of a sturdy cloak made of soft, supple leather. The leather has been dyed black and is studded with a thousand small square plates. The plates are each only an inch of so lond and are riveted to the leather, leaving only enough space between them to allow for some flexibility of the fabric. Due to the flowing properties of the cloak, and the covering of strong metal plates make it very hard to punch through the cloak to get to Saya beneath it. The cloak is able to cover her whole body, and it's one peice construction leaves few weak spots. While it does provide a great amount of protection to all sides, it is also quite heavy. The amount of metal used to cover the cloak makes it weight about 60 pounds in total. Destributed evenly, it still slows her down some.
Natural Abilities: This cloak does not grant imortality! It's just a dramatic name! The protection this cloak comes with has a cost and an advantage. It's great bulk and weight make it hard to get a sharp weapon through but it also slows her down by 10%. However, the cloak is easy to remove, and doing so quickly frees her from the weight. After casting off the cloak she will recieve a 20% speed boost for the next post. On the second and third post, this speed increase reduces to 10%, then on the fourth post the lack of weight has become less of a factor and the speed boost fades to unnoticeable levels for the rest of the fight. The cloak can be put back on afterwards for added armor, however the cloak must be worn consistently for at least an hour before the benefits of removing the weights becomes helpful again.

In the last category I am going to put anything else I need to use, even if it classifies under other weapons. Things such as bombs, flares and other useful war toys. I'd like to remove everything currently there. I'd also like each of those categories with their own spoiler section. I really don't mind making these changes myself, but I'm fine with whatever gets it done.

I'm also curious about other things in equipment and such, like if I need to list Kunai, shuriken, and the like? Paper tags? I am unsure if I can even use paper tags due to a lack of jutsu. Do these things need to be represented on my sheet, or can they be assumed? I havn't found a kunai template, so I dunno. Let me know what you think. As I said, I'm willing to make these changes myself. I also added a location section to each weapon to explain where she keeps her vast arsenal. While Saya can be expected to pull a continual chain of new weapons out, it should be explained that she's not made of magic, and she's carrying them all on her.

You're understood to have basic equipment like that which is mentioned in the character template's coding and installed 'guide'.

Alrighty. So what do I do about the lay out and formatting? Can I change it? As it turns out, I also need to add a sub element so I can have my summons. I need to add wind too, though I thought you had to do that after you got to chuunin. Happily, I was wrong. ^-^

Please let me know what you think. If you want to unlock and unapproved my character I can quickly change it to what it would be better looking like. I am sure I can get it done in about an hour, maybe less, and don't want to end up with an unapproved character when I could be playing. Right now, though, my character isn't legal, and shouldn't be played anyway.

Let me know what you think.
