Shimohari, Vivi Vide
PostSubject: Shimohari, Vivi Shimohari, Vivi EmptySat 17 Apr 2010, 7:28 pm

Basic Information:

Name:
Shimohira, Vivi
Secondary Title:
The Illusionist of Mount Height
Age:
24
Gender:
Female
Physical Appearance:
Shimohari, Vivi Fight_CLub15_by_Grinch7-1

Common Outfit:
Being a relaxed creature by nature, Vivi enjoys the simplistic styling’s of stretchy, fitted jeans and a white tank top. The jeans rest snugly on her hips, the faded black showing the signs of age. Her hands are usually wrapped with bandages to mid forearm, and she wears black, suede boots that reach just below her knee. They have no heel, but a solid sole.
Professional Outfit:
A black haired beauty, this kunoichi stands at 5”8. One in possession of a lean muscled body, she moves with a cat like grace that you need to be born with. Usually garbed in a cropped, tight black tank and traditional ninja pants, Vivi tries to keep her outfit simple, half the time burning her clothing with the complicated jutsus and chemicals she works with. Her Cloak reaches to just above her knees, and she chooses to wear the red version. It stands out from her usual black attire like the striking bright blue of her eyes. They are lined with a dark black, making the colour pop.

Not one to wear too much makeup, she is nearly always seen with a nude eye shadow that makes her lids sparkle slightly. There is nothing special about it, but she enjoys the casualties of a woman; shopping and looking pretty. Arm guards grace her limbs while traditional black ninja sandals complete her look. Vivi can be seen either with her hair down in a lazy wave or up partially in an intricate design that has many senbon involved. Each can be pulled from her hair if necessary. They are seemingly invisible to the eye, placed in carefully.

Knives are hidden in the soles of her sandals and hooked blades are catered for in her arm guards. They come out as a straight sword and then curve. Her thigh pouch is located on her right leg.

Personality:
Overview:
Known for her willingness, Vivi is one to never turn down a challenge. Young and talented, she likes to take advantage of her strengths and utilize them to the best of her ability. Not one to be tame, she is fiery and energetic; constantly moving or doing something. Not one to just sit around, the kunoichi gets bored easily and needs to complete things in the first sitting, or she finds herself uninterested.

Very driven, she knows what she wants and will do nearly anything to achieve it. Beautiful on the inside, she cares deeply for people, always placing herself in the other person’s shoes. This was something she had to work at as a child, having been quite a brat when she was young, always picking on her little brother and flicking him on the nose whenever he annoyed her.

Usually quite ecstatic, she gets excited easily, finding joy in small things such as flowers and chocolate. Being bubbly by nature, chocolate is quite a delicacy that she enjoys often, drinking hot chocolate with mint leaves daily. She calls it her “caffeine fix,” while in reality it’s just a sugar high. Nevertheless, she enjoys it; although it is a tad bit embarrassing.

An optimist, she thinks brightly, her vision almost never clouded by anger or hate. She has an open mind and takes in a lot of perspectives before making a decision. This is one of her strengths. Although at times she thinks too much, Vivi can make quick, accurate decisions on the spot, making her a great analyst and fighter. She observes her opponents with a keen eye, having a slight, sadistic side to her that is almost never seen unless in battle.

When she spots a weakness, she jumps on it quickly, tearing it apart until she can take control of you. Her genjutsus come in a wide variety, starting from simple mind games to full out scenes of torture that drag on in her enemies mind. As a shinobi, she is ruthless and never hesitant. She acts viciously and won’t stop until her target is dead.

Passionate and secure, many people draw close to her. She gives off an air of confidence and swag, that’s followed by her usual sarcastic comments and loud, chime like laugh. Known as the bright light at the end of the tunnel, she resembles hope in her wacky way that makes people smile. She has a gift to get along with nearly everyone.

Serious when dealing with business, she tries to add a bit of relaxation as to not make her guests nervous. Not one to sit in a chair all day, she’s often doing work hands on, only coming back to deal with her paperwork. Otherwise, she holds meetings outside in either the quiet park or a more reserved place. Often, when looking for her, many spot the kunoichi at the training field, working on her jutsus, alone. She dislikes practicing genjutsus around people, afraid that their mind is too fragile for the chaos she can create.

Most people don’t understand how she knows they work, but they do because she tests them on herself, making the usual strong mental barrier break and allow the jutsu to overtake her. Sometimes, she can’t break out and finds herself caught in it until it ends on its own or her chakra runs out. She has been run to the hospital in secrecy a few times.

Vivi dislikes not going on missions, and swears she’s going to get a partner in crime to watch over the place while she goes away for a bit. The stress of routine and no change gets to her easily, making her usual outgoing personality feel bottled up and caged; screaming to be free. She often finds herself looking out the window when she’s stuck indoors.

She loves dawn and dusk, the bright colours meeting the blues and blacks of night fascinating. At times like these, she usually sits down, curled up under a blanket or in comfy clothes and watches in solitude. Its her quiet time where she winds down or gets ready for the day ahead. The calm before the storm. The time to recall and relate. It’s perfect in her eyes.

Likes:

Mint Hot Chocolate
Dawn and Dusk
Unnoticed Beauty
Her village

Dislikes:
Annoyances
Ignorance
Losing
Being second place

Philosophy: Life is made to be enjoyed because every day is a gift and tomorrow is not a given. Enjoy it, live it, be beautiful inside and out. Vivi doesn’t allow herself to be pessimistic, there is more to be happy about than upset.

Nindo: Destruction is beautiful, but harmony is forever lasting.

Rank Information:

    Rank:
    Jounin
    Village Affiliation:
    Konohagakure.

Special Information:

    Character Speciality:
You may pick 2 skills: Genjutsu, Ninjutsu
    Main: Genjutsu
    Sub: Ninjutsu
    Elemental Affinity:
    Fire (Katon), Wind (Fuuton)
    Main:Katon
    Sub: Fuuton
    Special Characteristics:
Vivi has special seals on her hands that connected directly to her chakra, allowing her to open them with the slightest bit of concentration to release strong, concentrated bursts of fire without the use of hand signs. This ability uses less chakra than a normal jutsu and can be used close and mid-range. Good for distraction and surprise tactics. The seals can be opened and closed very easily. They can only be used if the user has more than 1/3 of their chakra left. The bursts of fire cannot be used for more than 5 seconds at a time. They use less chakra because they are connected directly to her chakra sources so she does not have to spend excess energy concentrating them to her hand.

This ability originated when she went to a Katon Temple to study fire, her main element. Here, they placed the seals on her hands so she would be connected to her chakra openings, and her true element. This was a gift from the monks who took on her training, which was given to her after she finished her journey. This area is her most vulnerable spot.
    Stronger Genjutsu
    - the woman excelled at it through hard work and a natural gift for it.
    - This allows her to Genjutsus to be of a higher caliber than usual, so they can take stronger attacks than usual. They become slightly more difficult to get out of, but they all have their specific weak spots. For example, a B Ranked jutsu can be utilized as an A ranked jutsu, but at the cost of more chakra.

    Excelled Speed
    - Vivi at a young age decided that to be one step ahead of everyone, you needed to have a close grasp on techniques that enhanced your speed. She constantly practiced "Shunshin no Jutsu - Body Flicker Technique" until she finally had enough of a handle on it. Collaborating this technique with focusing chakra into her legs and feet, she was able to create, faster strides, resulting in what appeared to be enhanced speed and disappearing. This technique was mostly used as a confusion tactic against the enemy.

Strengths:
Mind Games
Quick Thinking
Strong Mental Stability
Ranged Combat
Dodging, quick on her feet

Weaknesses:
Sometimes stubborn and set in her ways
Will put herself in situations she cannot deal well in
Weaponry
Hand to Hand Combat

Skill Information:

    Jutsu Template:

    Genjutsu

Background Information

    History:
    Pre-Academy Arc:
Born in a small village outside Konoha and on the border of River and Wind Country, Yakeato was a quiet place. Most who lived there had average jobs; carpentry, boat making, fishermen. Everyone kept to themselves, and in this quiet village that held secrets, lived the Shimohira Clan, a small family with many offspring.

Vivi, one of the older children of the clan was one of the few females born. Most of her family and relatives that were blood-related were male. As a child, she spent most of her days causing mischief, putting dead fish under pillows and causing havoc wherever she went. Her family complained about her energy level, seeing how her father never seemed to be around to riel her in.

He spent most of his days travelling, not often appearing in her life. One day, when she was five; Vivi was playing with a fish head, throwing it in the air and trying to catch it when her father appeared out of the blue. Surprised by his arrival, her eyes lit up with happiness, making her fly at her father and hug him closely. She remembered him patting her shoulder before bestowing her with a little baby who smiled at her cheekily.

That’s the first thing she saw of her little brother who she treated like a doll, bringing him everywhere she went. She often acted like a mother hen around him, taking care of the little boy and fending off anyone who tried to help, including their supposed to be mother. She was rash and snippy, always tsking at the way Vivi conducted herself. Much like a tom boy when she was younger, the girl often played in the mud with her brother, or other childish things.

The two grew up closely, without their father to lean on, supporting each other in whatever they did. She was very protective over him, acting more like a mother than a sister. She’d always spend her days with him, just having fun and loving the little boy she thought was a doll when she was small. Not knowing who their mother was, she disliked trusting people, scared they would hurt her little family she created around herself.

Having taught Axel how to read and write, she showed him the ropes of life, passing her knowledge onto the little boy. Often, she would flick his nose whenever she got annoyed with him or is actions and it is still a habit for the young woman.

As they grew older and their personalities grew and blossomed, they realized they had too much in common, often arguing over the stupidest of things. Half the time, they would argue endlessly, just because they wanted the last word. They were competitive and childish, in all their glory. Vivi grew out of being a mother figure for Axel, knowing both of them were independent and just needed a sibling, not a mom. Although she loved him insanely, the girl never admitted it out loud, preferring the loud voices and curses and insults then lovey dovey crap.

During their childhood, Vivi and Axel always seemed to get on their mother’s nerves. She was a perfectionist, a mother who wanted a neat house and neat children. But she didn’t achieve that from the two. Not having any actual blood relation to the two, she treated them poorly, knowing her husband was off gallivanting with other woman. Often, she would take out her anger at the children, but she reasoned with herself that it was because they destroyed her house and possessions. Of course, everything was accidental, but mishaps happened often.

The final straw was when the two broke her mother’s vase. It was a priceless artifact and she lost it, smacking the siblings hard before packing their bags and informing them she would be sending the two to Konohagakure where they would become ninjas, and hopefully die. The last part was left unsaid.

When they arrived, the children lived on the streets until one day a family took them in. They had no children, their son having died from blood poisoning. They were simple folk, not rich but not poor and they loved the two mightily. They were treated like one of their own and Vivi found herself thinking of that place as “home,” not Yakeato.

    Academy Student Arc:
In the Academy, she was an alright student; excelling in Chakra Control. It was her favourite subject and she spent much of her free time working on it. Although she was studious, she wasn’t very consistent, flaking off in certain subjects she disliked such as taijutsu. Having a good hold on her given elements, even at a young age, she worked hard on her strengths.

Although she often joked and slacked off in certain classes, Vivi pulled herself together near the end and passed the academy with above average grades. Proud of herself and her brother she was excited for genin hood, although she was a tad nervous.

When they tore her away from her brother, she was worried for him, still quite protective of him, but after a bit of consoling from her adoptive mother, she became more confident and knew that if she wanted to still protect him, she needed to become stronger.

    Genin Arc:
At first, she disliked being a shinobi, finding the chores annoying but not hard; her work in Yakeato much worse. She spent hours every day when away from her team, working on her chakra control and technique, climbing up trees and holding her position for as long as possible. It was hard, but she enjoyed the rush of chakra pumping from her system.

Her sensei, Dogi was a stalk man who was constantly serious. He reminded the 15 year old of a drill sergeant and she often told him of it, her mouth still sarcastic and tongue sharp. He was the one that helped her gain more control over it, although the process was long and hard. Having a good hand in genjutsu, he showed Vivi the ropes, teaching her, her very first B ranked genjutsu.

She fell in love with creating illusions and often at times found herself thinking about others, creating them in her mind. Some were too strong for her but she wrote them down in a journal, knowing one day; she would be able to use them. Her teammates often came to her for help, a weapon’s user and a lightning excelled student. Both fit well with her personality and they were a strong team, covering each other’s backs well.

When heading into the chuunin exams, they went in confidently, knowing they had an advantage; their team strong and well put together. Vivi spotted her brother and she smiled at him, giving him a thumb’s up sign before turning it down in a silent exchange. She was determined to beat him.

The first exam was easy for the genin. Having a wide intellect she had no need to cheat, although she smacked quite a few who tried to copy her paper. Having a good hand with wind already, she sliced a genin from Takigakure across the cheek, causing him to burst out in anger, making him fail. She had laughed silently.

The second exam was different. She knew both of her companions well; their weaknesses hidden by another’s strengths and in the first night the gathered a scroll. Instead of heading for the tower right away, they stayed behind, ambushing multiple groups of shinobi, stealing their scrolls and either killing them. They didn’t want any competition. When they arrived to the tower on the final day, they were in possession of 5 scrolls, effectively dismissing 3 teams. The victory was a sweet one.

Before the third exams, Vivi spotted her brother and silently let out a relieved sigh. Although she would never admit it, she had been worried he’d get injured even though she knew he was fully capable of taking care of himself. During this time, she remembered back to the time she saw his cheeky little smile. It made her laugh silently. Going back to her room, she readied herself for the competition.

When the pairings were given out, because there was no need for preliminaries, Vivi felt a strong urge in her stomach that bubbled up. She was excited for what was to come, and she knew she could win. Having one of the first matches, the first thing she did research on her opponent. The girl, Fiae was a taijutsu user. Knowing her own strengths and weaknesses, Vivi knew she would have to use genjutsu and be careful planning out a strategy.

Training hard, mentally and physically, she was ready when the month passed by and it was time for the exams. She hadn’t talked to her brother much then, him training just as hard as her with his sensei. In the house, most of the time they were too tired to carry out a conversation and often found themselves shuffling towards their beds.

When the match began, the genin was confident, avoiding the girl’s swift attacks while planning out retaliations. She knew that if the match carried out long then she would no doubt be the loser. Creating a genjutsu that made the opponent feel like their mind wasn’t sending signals to the body, Vivi moved in for the kill, but stopped suddenly when she felt a kunai pressed against her throat. The girl had escaped her genjutsu and powered her speed with chakra, successfully sneaking up on her.

Grimacing, she switched places with a log and struck the girl on the head with the blunt end of a kunai. Not wanting to kill her, Vivi backed up as she crumbled, thinking she was doing the right thing, However, Fiae had somehow stayed conscious and slid forward like a snake locking her hands around her ankles and pulling hard, causing the raven to fall. She unlocked the knives in her shoes and swung it around to slice the girl’s neck but missed the vein, her position hard to bend around in. Successfully pinned, the match was called and the Kumogakure nin was taken by the medics.

Disappointed in her performance, the next matches went by with glazed eyes, barely noticing what was going on until she spotted her brother take the field and win easily. She had cheered for him with a sister’s bravado and as he collapsed against the wall after climbing the steps back to the preparation room, she slid down beside him and hugged him awkwardly with one arm, resting her head against his. They chatted about their matches, small talk as it’s called and gave each other hints. It lasted for a while before finally they were called back into the stadium. Thinking she wasn’t going to make it; Vivi was surprised when her name was called and the position of Chuunin was appointed to her.

    Chuunin Arc:
After the exams, she spent some time on vacation; declining any missions. She had gotten into politics, and often during council meetings, she listened and learned; becoming a spokesperson of Konoha in a way. She found this job inspiring and good for her character, knowing it helped her in the long run. She learned how to chat politely without inducing her sarcasm.

It also put her name out there for other leaders who had met her. Vivi still worked on her jutsus, her genjutsu becoming extremely powerful and a force to be reckoned with. Sometimes, she’d take a mission just to see how her jutsus were progressing and was always excited when they worked out properly. The completion of a jutsu made her day and when using her own creation on her opponent, she became slightly sick in the head; the power of control fogging her mind. It was not noticeable, because it wasn’t threatening for anyone except her opponent.

The slight, sadistic nature only came when she used her own special jutsus and it wasn’t something evident, just a small spark in her eyes that disappeared as quickly as it came. She lived with the slight insanity, knowing it was under control, although she had a suspicion that it was created from the times she used her own jutsus on herself to test them.

Still into politics, she decided another rank was necessary, her sensei Dogi, suggesting it. Trusting his wisdom and words she did, gaining the rank easily. It was a wonderful feeling to be near the top of Konoha, and to know she was helping people. Taking on more missions, she saved up; spending her ryo on an apartment. It was quite big and modern, fitting into her rather fast paced life nicely.

    Role-Play Sample:
The air was crisp, chilling the inside of her throat and making her catch her breath. It burned for a moment, her lungs trying to adapt themselves to the biting cold, but she continued on, her pace never breaking. There was somewhere she needed to be, and by the looks of the sky; she was running late. Jumping another tree, she landed with a light thump, her tiptoes stringing forward, propelling her rather toned body forward. The black shroud of cloth flew out behind her like a shadow of death.

It was an eerie sight, this figure running through the trees at an alarming pace; her feet never slowly or strides faltering. It was like she didn’t know what tired meant, running in a trance, not knowing her breathing was panted or that her muscles let out a shrill whine each time she took another step. She moved nearly robotically, as if in a trance. Looking toward the sky once again, the bright yellow of the stars as they shone down provided her with a grim light, casting ghastly shadows over her already bloody face.

It was haggard, the deep lines that were defined under her lips and cheeks. They seemed to be deep cuts that might scar the flesh if not taken care of. Blood was dripping from the crown of the figure’s head, and she dashed it away with a gnawed fingertip, not grimacing as she dirtied the cut. It was bruising, the rather ugly slash at her forehead. It was cut roughly, the edges of her flesh torn and already showing sings of infection. It hurt, but she ignored the pain that made her eyelid droop and eye swell.

Taking another tree with a giant, chakra enhanced leap, she hit down hard before flipping off the last tree and breaking into the field, her steps still swift. Behind her, a shout was heard; a man screaming about capturing her. She couldn’t understand him; too far gone in trying to keep herself from stopping; the exhaustion gaining on her. Tripping over a stone, the woman went careering over it, her body hitting the earth hard. She let out a whimper as the pain momentarily paralyzed her; the bluish bruises groaning.

She lay there, breathless as her genjutsu broke and a shower of shuriken and kunai immediately made their way toward her. She checked her chakra storage and let out a curse as she realized she was running on fumes. Fumbling to her feet, she staggered, her knee giving out. Hitting hard on it, she let out a scream but ended it quickly by biting her lip. It bled in her mouth and the metallic taste seemed heightened in her adrenaline state.

Letting out a gasp she got up once again and sending some chakra to her knee to support it she went into a run, trying hard to concentrate. Her mind felt numb, freezing her body and causing it to jolt as she tried to push it over its threshold. The cloaked figure ducked right, diving toward the ground and rolling head first to recover, the kunai whizzing by her shoulder. It nicked her cloak, adding more holes to the material.

Feeling a senbon connect with her shoulder, she pulled it out quickly, sending more chakra to the area, sealing off her blood from the area. She knew it was poisoned. Letting out a groan as she felt droopy, she fought the feeling and her stumbling body and pushed forward, her eyes half closed in the rush of movement. Reaching into a pocket she withdrew a syringe, jabbing it into her skin quickly and ejecting the temporary antidote. It would only work for a short time, but that was all she needed. She hoped.

Continuing to run, she sensed their presence closing in on her from all sides. Determined not to be caught and have her bounty rid of her head, she let out a fierce battle cry and gathered the last of her chakra, which wasn’t much. The genjutsu she was about to unleash was Forbidden and used to cover such a big area had never been tried before, but this was her last chance. It needed such a little amount of chakra but if she completed it properly it would hide her escape and provide time for getaway.

Forming the seals with shaking, bleeding hands; she whispered the jutsu, the wind carrying her words away. Concentrating, she felt the movement of her enemies stall then hit the ground and she let out a shout of relief before hitting the ground, drained.

Rank: You'll need to ask Pat to make a Jounin for Konoha.

Kaiten Shuriken: Controlling the fuuton element from multiple directions all at once is a feat that has only be attempted once in a Naruto movie, and even then the ninja that did it had special chakra to do it. So if all of these shuriken are being manipulated from different directions all at once, that would be nearly impossible.

Kamikzae: How many does multiple mean? How big are the pillars?

Wind Blade: The way its described, no. I know its cannon, but the description you have is pitiful. Nothing is impossible to block.

Kami Oroshi: More detail.

Wind Cutter/Wind Return: Him? His? This jutsu makes no sense, slicing wind in half with a sword? Thats completely illogical.

Endan: Cannon reference.

Meisai Gakure no jutsu: Duration. Also, any sensory ability could locate someone using this jutsu, not just sharingan.

This is Becca right? Because I read "A black haired beauty, this kunoichi stands at 5”8" and was like, " Becca always uses that..."

Rank: I have already consulted with Pat on this.

Kaiten Shuriken: Vivi has great chakra control, which is one of the reasons why I put this jutsu in her arsenal. However, I would like to come to a compromise and re-rank it up to an A and say she can only control a maximum of 3 shuriken at a time.

Kamikaze: Multiple refers to the amount of weapons thrown. Individually, they cannot block over 50 weapons. Vivi can only summon a total of two twisters.

Wind Blade: In this case, considering the jutsu is cannon, yes it's impossible to block, you can't deny it. However, I can understand the reasoning behind not using this jutsu, and it has been removed.

(Side note: if the administration is against this jutsu, then it should be banned permanently from the site)

Kami Oroshi: Edited.

Wind Cutter/Wind Return: They are both Cannon jutsus used against Temari when she fights in the woods with Kujaku. I have removed them, due to the decision to remove her halberd and sword.

Endan: Fixed.

Meisai Gakure no Jutsu: Again, Cannon jutsu. I will not change it's description.
Duration: maximum of 10 posts no fighting, maximum of 3 posts fighting.

Wind Blade is indeed site banned, check the banned jutsu list.

Also, despite the status of the technique as canon or otherwise it is still subject to the same application checking rules as everything else is, so please don't use that as an excuse to not edit things. If details are asked for, they need to be there, canon or not.

Wind Blade isn't banned and it is impossible to block, doesn't mean you cannot dodge it.

The fire seals, why do they take less chakra? is there a rank or size limit? Remember to try and keep it balanced ^_^

"Stronger Genjutsu" needs to be better explained. Not how you got it per se, but what it means

OHHHH MYY GOODDDDD MINT HOT CHOCOLATE SOUNDS SOOO DELICIOUS!!! D==== I WANT SOME RIGHT NOWWWWW

uhhmm. Other than that it looks great =D

Fire seals
They can only be used if the user has more than 1/3 of their chakra left. The bursts of fire cannot be used for more than 5 seconds at a time. They use less chakra because they are connected directly to her chakra sources so she does not have to spend excess energy concentrating them to her hand. She has a total of 6 shots per battle.

Stronger Genjutsu
- This allows her to Genjutsus to be of a higher caliber than usual, so they can take stronger attacks than usual. They become slightly more difficult to get out of, but they all have their specific weak spots. For example, a B Ranked jutsu can be utilized as an A ranked jutsu, but at the cost of more chakra.
